20 weeks pregnant and painful grade 4 hemorrhoids

Over the last couple of days I developed horrendous external hemorrhoids, they look like a bunch of grapes sticking out. So painful I hardly walk a few steps and even lying down doesn't help. I've read multiple threads here but most women tend to have severe piles layer in pregnancy.
I'm really desperate, tried all home remedies and OTC creams. Spoke to GP today who only prescribed me local anaesthetic cream and laxative.
Do you think there's any hope they get back to bearable state in the next couple of weeks or shall I push to get a surgical removal done? I can't imagine spending the next 4.5 months in agony.

I don't have any advice but I'm 18 weeks and In the exact same position as you, it's so awful!

Hoping to read people's advice or experiences.

Sorry you have to go through this as well @mhood11. I'm hoping that someone will post any success story here. Another day and no changes down there for me. I dread to think what's going to happen once the baby grows more and puts more pressure on. I'd really like to get them sorted before they get even worse later on...

You poor thing. I had one pop out a couple of days before I had DS
He’s 12 now and it’s still there, doesn’t bother me really these days and I am leaving it alone as removal is supposed to be pretty awful

I heard that some don't go away years after delivery... I had some mild ones before and had them banded a couple years which was great. You can do it if they are grade 2 or 3.

Since I got pregnant mine returned, but were manageable until last week.
Now they've grown so much over the course of 2 days and so painful I can't perform any daily activities. Been off sick worwise for last couple of days due to this pain, but cannot carry this on for next 4 months...

I couldn't read and run!
I had them in both pregnancies, severely. First pregnancy I actually had a thrombosed one which was horrendous, I had to lie on my side for a week and was off work.
They've never fully gone between pregnancies and have been very severe following birth (I'm talking the size of cherries to a small plum). My advice would be to use those moist toilet tissues to wipe yourself after a number 2 as it is more comfortable and you are cleaner and then they don't get so sore. After cleaning, use cream and suppositories (every time). I also push them back in when they're really bad and external. It sounds horrid but it really relieves them. Try to stay hydrated and take laxatives if needed.
I am actually really impacted by mine, they have affected me for 5 years now, never fully going away. Medical professionals don't take them seriously or understand the impact they have. I would like them sorted once I've finished having kids but I'll probably have to pay as don't think they're done on the nhs now. Hope yours feel better soon x

I was told that I couldn’t have surgery until I’d finished having all the children I wanted but I totally sympathise. I’ve been suffering for ages now
