33 weeks feeling unwell?

I am 33+1 and for the past two days I’ve generally just been feeling a bit bogged down. I’ve been able to go to work and get on with normal every day life. But I’ve got this weird head ache that’s always there, it feels like my head is just foggy it’s not excruciating, it doesn’t feel like a normal head ache, it’s just there. I take paracetamol but once that wears off it’s back again and I don’t feel like I’ve been able to fully get rid of it without paracetamol masking it for an hour or two. I’ve also felt a bit nauseous as well, not all the time. Just every now and then. Mostly when I wake up and after I’ve had a day at work. But it’s only been the past two days. I don’t know if it’s just increase in hormones, pregnancy just becoming harder or if it could be anything more serious. I’m in a bit of a pickle with my midwife situation right now. My appointment midwife went on maternity leave herself so I don’t have one midwife to go to. I think I have a team number but it’s just not the same as having someone I know I can depend on. I’ve left it two days to see if it’s just a 48 hour bug. But it’s become a little annoying. Lol someone help

I’d ring your maternity unit and seek their advice, they are normally really helpful.

Please have your blood pressure and urine checked ASAP, you should ring the maternity unit or GP out of hours service in your area tonight

Baubles2020 · 17/03/2021 21:42

I think you need to ring to get checked out too

Yup - call your maternity unit. Hopefully they'll ask you to come in to check blood pressure and urine to exclude pre-eclampsia.

Just keeping this thread updated as I know it may come in handy for others in the future. Thank you for the suggestions! I have called my out of hours maternity unit and they asked me a couple questions and said it’s quite hard to decipher wether it’s preeclampsia without running tests because I don’t have the common signs of starry vision or swelling. They have given me a triage number to call if I feel anything is off, or just not right at any point tonight. They’ve advised me to rest, drink plenty of water and contact my usual midwife team in the morning to have me booked in ASAP to run some tests. I’ll update the thread once my tests have been done 😊

To update I am feeling back to my normal self. Must have just had a bad couple of days, probably the tiredness and hormones. I rang the midwifes they were full on availability but had rang me multiple times throughout the day to see how I was getting on. They had no major concerns as I hadn't developed any swelling or problems with my vision but told me to keep an eye out for any new symptoms, take paracetamol and drink plenty of water as usual. It subsided after a while and luckily not come back. They had also advised that as they were not available that day, if i felt something wasn't right or seriously felt I needed to be seen that the number for the midwife team at my choice of hospital would be able to see me. At the end of the day I suppose the lesson to be learned is to be aware of your symptoms no matter how small or major they are, always get advice and a second opinion, and sometimes mommas...you're just having a hard time it's all part of the pregnancy journey. DO get checked out though. DO be persistent. You're not annoying anyone, it's their jobs, it's your baby, it's your health. 😊
