Hi Ladies
I’m expecting them to tell me this week that I’ve had another missed miscarriage, at 8/9 weeks would you recommend medical or natural management, any advice welcome xx

Natural if it happens within a few weeks of confirmed mc but if it doesn't go medical.
Condolences on your loss.

Cellwen · 16/03/2021 10:28

@Chelyanne, thank you that’s what I’d prefer I’ve had bad experiences with both, but think the recovery and periods get back to normal quicker with natural

I'm really sorry for your loss. I miscarried naturally in the end, but it took a long time - the baby died at about 6 weeks but I didn't miscarry until a bit over 10. Depends how long you want to wait.

I hope you are OK Flowers

I've done one natural and my second MMC I did medical followed by surgical. I don't recommend medical at all as it was very painful and ultimately didn't work. Surgical was done within hours and recovery was great. Natural was fine too and I didn't wait too long for it to happen.

BlueberryPancake21 · 16/03/2021 10:50

Sorry for your loss OP. Obviously this is a very personal choice. Once I knew what had happened I didn't want to wait so opted for medical management at 9.5wks. It was unpleasant but it meant the whole thing was over relatively quickly. I got my period 5 wks after the MC started and conceived on cycle 3 so for me I got back to normal pretty quickly and was glad I was able to move on faster. With my natural loss it was about the same.

Cellwen · 16/03/2021 10:54

Thank you ladies this will be my 5th miscarriage three of which happened relatively quickly started bleeding at about 8 weeks, and periods returned quite quickly.
However I had medical management last July with my 3rd missed miscarriage at 11 weeks it was horrendous I bled on and off every other day for three months I also had an infection and was refused a scan and follow up treatment due to COVID this was shortly followed by a chemical pregnancy which I’m sure was a result of things not healing as they should. I really, really don’t want to go through this again

So sorry for your loss. I had a mc last year from my first pregnancy.

I would say natural, as that’s what I did, but make sure you are prescribed strong painkillers. For some people the pain isn’t any worse than period pains, but for me the pain was unbearable, I nearly passed out and threw up. The whole thing was over within a few hours once it got going though. The pain came back the next day and I passed the placenta while I was walking the dog. I had been told to take paracetamol but it had no effect at all.

I was 9 weeks but baby measured 6.

I found that once the bleeding stopped I felt much better emotionally. Sending you strength xxx

Thank you for the help and advice ladies and so sorry for all your losses. Its sad to say but I just want this miscarriage to go as smooth and problem free as possible so I can move on and try again.

I don't know what's worse the anxiety of getting pregnant after loss, and being pregnant even if only for a few weeks or the anxiety of waiting for a miscarriage. Its such a shame we cant enjoy and get excited once we have that positive test like so many do. xxx

@Cellwen I know what you mean, its really all so hard 💔 are you on any medication for your recurrent losses such as aspirin? It seems to work for a lot of women xxx

Cellwen · 16/03/2021 12:02

@Cafeaulait27, yes I have an underactive thyroid so am on levothyroxine to manage this which has been stable now for over two years, I double my medication as soon as I get a positive test. I also have a slightly higher cardio lipin level so on this pregnancy was prescribed heparin. I have been told by my gynaecologist to take baby aspirin 75mg daily both when trying to conceive and when pregnant, and am also on 400mg daily of progesterone. Sadly non of which have worked again

@Cellwen please don't give up yet, you're in the limbo stage and I know it's so hard to convince yourself otherwise and my heart breaks you're in this torture week🥺 wait till Thursday and what they say and go from there with your options. You know I'm thinking of you💞

Cellwen · 16/03/2021 12:24

@MollySxx hi chic, just trying to prepare myself if the worse comes to the worse I want to have already worked out my options before they push me into something I don't want or fully understand.

Thinking of you to xxx

I’m so sorry for your loss @Cellwen

I had a mmc in July last year. The medical management failed twice for me, nothing happened at all, so I had survival management, which id highly recommend.

I had my surgery 27/07 and a bfp 28/08 which I’m currently at 32+4 with ❤️

MollySxx · 16/03/2021 12:31

@Cellwen always here if you need a rant💞 I know it's so hard. The anxiety is kicking in for me as I'm back in work today after 2 days off and I just went to curl under a blanket and not surface until Friday. So difficult to control all the emotions, I totally get where you're coming from x

Cafeaulait27 · 16/03/2021 12:33

@Cellwen I’m so sorry. All I know is that the safe dose for pregnant women that they recommend is now 150mg - so you could try increasing? I’m on 150mg. Really hope it works out for you next time xxx

Cellwen · 16/03/2021 15:06

@Sansa87 I must be honest I’m a bit scared of surgery I’m frightened it could leave scare tissue just my lick this is exactly what would happen. But great to hear it worked for you and congratulations on your rainbow baby.

@Cafeaulait27 I’ve got an appointment with my gynaecologist next week so I’ll definitely ask him about raising the dose. Thank you

@MollySxx this is the first day in three weeks I haven’t cried I just feel so worn out I haven’t got any strength left, desperately need some answers now. Big hugs to you sweetheart 🤗🥰❤️

@Cellwen it's definitely the waiting and the mind games you okay with yourself that I've noticed. I'm guilty of it. So hoping everything is okay for us both because we are so similar in our current situation. Take it easy💞

Cellwen · 16/03/2021 15:19

@MollySxx thinking of you chic xxx
