What to buy my pregnant friend?

Just that really! A good friend of mine is 20 weeks pregnant but due to restrictions I won't see her until at least June when she will be almost ready to pop! I want to slowly gather a few things over the next few things to give her when I see her in June as i live quite far away so won't see her after June for a few months!
I'm thinking of putting together a little hamper/caddy type thing with:
muslins,
Nappies in new born and one size up
wipes
Some little sleepsuits/baby grows

And then for mum a little pamper hamper with bubble bath, chocolates, prosecco and a just eat voucher for her and her fiance for when they just need a takeaway in the early days!

However, I don't have children and this is my first closest friend to have a baby. Am I going down the right lines with gifts and is there anything else in the baby caddy I can include? When she announced she was pregnant I got a personalised blanket sent to her as a congratulations present (it was personalised with their surname as in "Baby Surname").

That all sounds lovely.
And lively that you're doing one for her too!
So often people think of the baby and forget about the Mum!
One friend bought me a bunch of bath bombs as a gift and I cried for ages just simply because she had thought about me and not just the baby 😂

Love that you're getting things for both baby and mum!
For baby a few ideas would be - a star wrap for the pram, could get one ready for use in autumn. The next sleepsuits are lovely because they have fold over sleeves so no need for scratch mits. Baby 'pamper bits' like creams, newborn hair brush etc.

For mum a couple of ideas would be - maybe some nice skin care from her favourite shop or face masks/eye masks so she can feel a bit more herself in those early weeks, some neom or this works sleep/relax spray, a nice flask for her tea or coffee so she can take it on her walks with baby.

Make sure you buy clothes for baby in a much bigger size! She'll have plenty in newborn, 0-3, 3-6 etc.

And definitely focus more on mum!

I need a friend like you!!

That all sounds pretty perfect tbh, you're friends is lucky to have you. I found the baby's 1st year picture frames were one of my favourite gifts, month by month then a big 1st birthday slot.

I always get new mums little pamper treats as they often forget to have some "me time". Nobody has done the same for me though, just chocolates to fatten me up more or flowers that end up like potpourri of decay because I forget to bin them lol

You sound like a lovely friend! She’s lucky to have you Smile I’m due in a few months, the first of my friends to have a baby....I’d ask her if there’s anything on her wish list she’d like for herself? I’m eyeing up my expert midwife range if that helps their stuff has great reviews

that's so lovely ,

even though I'm due around the same time I have no idea what to suggest .

You sound lovely! Lots of little treats for mum as most if the gifts after birth will be for the baby. Chocolates, biscuits etc. Not sure what your budget is but my essential newborn purchase was a white noise sheep. DD is six months and we still use it every night.

My best friend made me hamper when I had my DC 11 years ago.

She bought me a cloth scarf, snacks, magazines. Her mum picked up some cartons of cow and gate ready made milk so if we were out and about I could give him them. They helped a lot.

What a nice friend! ❤️

I loved the new PJs from next someone bought me PP. Lived in them for weeks, cotton baggy and presentable for answering the door.

Hell yes on just eat voucher!!

Another vote for expert midwife nip cream (if she’s planning on bfing) saved my life.

June was roasting last year so we got most use out of an aden and anais cotton muslin blanket (if you wanted any more ideas for the baby).
