Growth Scan

I had a growth scan today (28 weeks) as have P-APPA and my baby showed he was under the average and at 18% for his weight (although still in the range so they aren't worried)

Has anyone else been through this and did they need to bring on the labour early? I have a follow up scan in 4 weeks.

I'm not too worried but I'd like to know my changes to prepare myself for it

I have had recent growth scans due to pre eclampsia. I was told they don't worry about the weight unless it drops under the 10th centile. Even then they are more concerned about the pattern of growth rather than just the size. If baby continues to drop down centiles and growth slows then they will consider early delivery. But if baby is consistently around the 18th centile then its unlikely.

Hi @1sttimemummy2345 - not exactly the same but I had low PAPPA with my first baby. He did drop from 60-70th centile where he’d been for my most my pregnancy to around the 55th at my last scan and at birth. They were wanting to induce me because of this but long story short I held out and my baby was born naturally at a healthy 7lb 12oz at 39 weeks. Midwife also commented my placenta had no issues.
There’s a lot of threads on here about PAPPa, most women seem to say it comes to nothing. You could just carry smaller babies, 18th centile sounds alright to me. At your next scan they’ll be able to plot a trend a bit more too

Thank you so much for your replies.

That's put my mind at rest xx
