Anyone know what can be done for piles , I see Anusol recommend by others here and saying their doctors recommend it but then see they it shouldn't be used during pregnancy?! Is there anything else I can buy over the counter or do I need to try and make an appointment with my doctor ? Just not sure how long I would be waiting to see my doctor due to covid they are only taking emergency patients really and it's next to impossible to get through to reception .
The piles aren't painful at the moment but I am assuming if left untreated they will as the pregnancy progresses, currently 26 weeks .

I was prescribed that during pregnancy so definitely make an appointment, I can't see why it shouldn't be used!

Also just make sure you're doing everything you can not let them get any worse than they need to be - try never to strain, plenty of water, exercise, fibre, have a stool near the loo if you need to put your feet up so your knees are higher than your hips. They're so annoying, luckily mine all went after pregnancy. I remember the midwife saying something about the volume of your blood increasing during pregnancy which is one reason why you get them, just more blood sloshing around in your system and bulging out if there's any weak points. Good thing you get a lovely baby at the end of all the grimness Grin

@Xiaoxiong super thank you for that , hopefully that will do the job fine. Yeah apparently it's so common and it makes sense but was just hoping I wouldn't get them but definitely could be worse and will be so worth it in the end like you said ! Yeah I'll try and increase the water too some days I'm great and other days not so great so just need to keep an eye. Thank you 😊

Definately go see your doctor. It will get worse if you are prone to them. I waited and really suffered as a result.

I was prescribed lactulose and a suppository can’t remember the name but stronger than anusol as they wouldn’t go away. I ended up not using the suppository as I was worried but the lactulose did help. As did eating more fruit and veg, drinking a tonne of water, drinking a hot lemon water first thing in the morning before breakfast and using a sits bath which i call my bum bath 😂 so glam x
