They send a link and you get a password separately. You follow the link and can download the photos. Think there were about 4 photos and a video of the heartbeat. Also got 2 printed out.

Mine was a week ago btw.

I got 3 short clips (5 secs) and about 5 photos

I've just had a scan with this company today. I got 10 photos and a 12 sec video.

I got a couple of short video clips and between 10-15 photos any time I've used them. Also five or six printed out.

Hi there! Does anyone know the reason of the price difference in early scans between the birth company (120£) and Ultrasound direct (70£)?
I'm pregnant (7+1), after two miscarriages last year, and I just don't want to wait until 12 week scan in NHS. But I don't want to pay 50 more for nothing... Thank you!!

£120 for an early scan is daylight robbery. It's a 5-10 minute scan, they can't see much but will check measurements, sac, yolk and heartbeat.

Seriously go with the £70 one. Even that felt a lot. In non-lockdown when more places are open and there's more competition prices are usually less too, we've paid £40-50 before for early scans.

I had one with them last week, I had a video and around 14 photos (some were duplicates though!)

Couldn’t recommend Ultrasound Direct enough. I’ve felt quite anxious throughout pregnancy so far (Have anxiety anyway) and have been for a couple of scans already with them (Am now 8+6) and they’ve been fantastic - Have received a couple of video clips to show babies heartbeat and between 8-12 photos each time. I also like how they give you a link to download them on your phone each time. More importantly, the Sonographers are clearly knowledgeable, sympathetic and kind and make you feel very much at ease. The experience and reassurance for me is well worth £70 and I will continue to use them as and when necessary for reassurance.

Thanks for the advice! Definitely, I'll take the £70 one :)

wanderlnst · 08/03/2021 09:11

Agreed, £120 is way too expensive for an early scan.

I used Ultrasound Direct once and would never, ever again, however. I found out I'd had a mmc and the sonographer was really casual about it, told me to enjoy my weekend (when I was distraught) and ran after me with a scan photo of my dead baby.

PineappleSun · 08/03/2021 22:28

I thought they were good, I had an early scan at 8 weeks, two 10s video clips, 11 photos and the report. Three print outs to take home. I'm having another at 12 weeks as my NHS isn't until 14 weeks

NamechangeTTC · 08/03/2021 23:28

I did the ultrasound direct anomaly scan just before 20 weeks after some issues with my nhs care. £180 and we got about 70 pics and videos and about 10 printed.
