Will I qualify for the £151 per week maternity allowance?
I did the GOV calculator and it says I am eligible for 39 weeks pay but didn't say how much. I know it's either £151 or £27.. huge different!!
My partner is self employed. Does that effect anything?

Any advice much appreciated. X

Depends. Are you employed or self employed. Why don't you qualify for SMP?

If the below applies;

In the 66 weeks before your baby’s due, you must also have been:

  • employed or self-employed for at least 26 weeks
  • earning (or classed as earning) £30 a week or more in at least 13 weeks - the weeks do not have to be together

Then you would qualify for MA

It would be £151.20 a week or 90% of your average weekly earnings (whichever is less) for 39 weeks

To add to previous pp, chose the 13 weeks where you were paid the most. On a side note, after havong worked all those years, paid taxes etc...even the 151 per week is incredibly low. I couldn't qualify for Smp as my previous employer lost the contract I was working on, and I transfered over to a new company... Anyway, best wishes
