1 bag or 2 bags for the hospital?

Just a little question. The advice I've been given says to take 2 bags to the hospital. One for labour and one for after. Does anyone do this? Most posts on here are about "a hospital bag". I was thinking just to pack things all in one bag. Is there any benefit to doing two bags? It's my first time so I don't know about the practicalities and there might be something I'm missing.

I had two huge bags, two pillows and a blanket.
I've of them was full of food even though I only ate a couple of Jaffa cakes in 24 hours!

Three. Small hold-all for my clothes and slippers and flip flops and baby clothes, wheelie suitcase with snacks, washbag, phone charger, hairbrush etc and backpack changing bag with nappies, muslins, wipes, box of formula if needed and blanket
