I dragged out an oven? First time pregnant

Hiya, I'm 19 weeks pregnant. This is my first pregnancy so I am very anxious about everything haha. I dropped something behind my oven so I had to drag it out to get the item and then push it back, it did get caught a few times so I had to jolt it up but do you think I've done damage? I couldn't wait for my partner to come home as he does 13 hr shifts.

I know I'm very anxious but I didn't really think until after I had done it that it may be a problem I'm very independent so a lot to get used too.

Any comments appreciated Smile

You will be fine! I've climbed through a window before when I was expecting my first (don't ask!) They are very well protected in there!

My mum famously dragged out a full fridge to clean behind it when she was pregnant with me. And I'm fine Smile

You'll be fine, there's literally nothing to worry about in that situation, it's just a few minutes of somewhat strenuous movement.

PreciousOcean · 01/03/2021 20:12

You'll be fine

No. So long as you lift and shift with good form all will be well.

This no heavy lifting advise is very outdated, I still lift heavy weights in the gym and will do it as long as possible.

I was climbing and mountain biking at 5 months (a very long time ago). So long as you were comfortable you won’t have done any harm at all.

Thank you all so much for your comments, I really appreciate all of you. My first time pregnant so just scared of doing something wrong :) really appreciated x

You are more vulnerable to pulling a muscle or straining a ligament when pregnant due to the relaxin.

You also can’t take the really good drugs if you do pull something painful.

That’s what the advice is there to avoid - usually damage to you, not problems with the baby.

If you haven’t pulled anything, you are fine.

The risks around lifting are more to you than baby. From experience I would counsel you to actually do your pelvic floor exercises as much as you can when pregnant and postnatal, especially after doing some lifting.

Make sure you take it easy tonight/ tomorrow. I did some pregnancy Pilates the other week and didn’t think I’d overdone it in any way, the next two days I had to basically lie down all day i must have pulled something in my back! So I can attest to the fact that it is definitely easier to pull a muscle when pregnant! X
