Filtered water when pregnant?

I've been looking into getting a water filter jug so that I have nice cold water in the fridge.
I'm mainly looking at getting one because I'm hoping there are some benefits from filtering out chlorine and particles etc while I'm pregnant? Or I suppose even if I wasn't, a healthier option perhaps?
Does anyone else use filtered water and have some information as I can't really find any on the internet?
I've been looking at 'zero water' as this seems to be the best for filtering out the impurities - but, does it filter out the good stuff too?
Opinions?

Thanks xx

A lot of areas have reduced the chlorine content of tap water so it shouldn't be a big issue. Filter jugs are OK but we don't bother with them nowadays.

Hopefully one day they will move to other ways to sterilise tap water like some other countries have. Down to Earth on Netflix did an episode on water which was interesting.

We have a filter jug as we live in a very hard water area and it takes out some of the limescale - makes for a much better cup of tea!

We have a filter jug in the fridge just cos our water tastes horrible straight from the tap and we like to have properly cold water. No idea if it has any health benefits though, as far as I know tap water in the uk is all very safe xx

We’re very lucky and have great drinking water in Scotland.

@Hfe10 I started drinking filtered water when we were TTC and am still doing so now - am 18 weeks. I just think generally it’s better for you, and probably for baby too. Make sure you get a jug that’s BPA free x

I use a filter bug or a filter bottle (Brita) but I also drink tap water sometimes and don't see it to be an issue.

Need some advice (might be TMI for some).

About three weeks ago I started noticing blood when I wiped after going for a number two..

This is happening every time I go to the toilet - I've been going two if not three times a day now (I'm putting the extra bowel movements down to my pregnancy).

I can't see any piles - I've never had them before, so is it possible to get them this early? I am 11 weeks pregnant and been bleeding for 3 weeks.

Sometimes the toilet pan literally looks like red water, and at times the blood on the tissue is quite thick. It's always bright red blood though.

I've now started to become really bloated but high up (under my ribs, almost) this has turned into a belly ache. I think it's aching though, because it's bloated.

Are these normal things that happen during pregnancy? I don't want to phone my doctor if this is just something that happens 🙈.

Thank you x

@mahe10 talk to your GP

eloiseislost · 27/03/2021 09:06

@mahe10 These do not sound like pregnancy related symptoms, you need to speak to your GP as soon as possible, as a matter of urgency.

I agree with PPs. That isn't normal and don't think it's pregnancy related
