Sling recommendations

Hey guys,

Due in August with my first, myself and partner are wanting a stretchy baby sling for baby wearing. I have no idea where to begin as there's so many hahah!

Does anyone have any recommendations of a stretchy sling? Preferably one that's nice and easy to get on/off and doesn't have intricate ties etc.

Thank you all!

The Konny baby carrier is really easy to put on (no ties) and I really like it (not had my baby yet but thought it was worth telling you about the Konny as I was also looking for one that was stretchy with no ties). Smile

Caboo is great for newborn. I have big babies though so doesn’t last long for us but it’s lovely and easy to use and they have cheap second hand ones on eBay. I have a bondolino abs a Tula also abs the bondolino is nice for when they get W but bigger. I have a lovely ring sling but not managed to get on with it with my last two. Will try again as I like the fabric lol but despite all the YouTube vids have found it tricky. X

I’m due August too ☺️ I was going to to get a free rider, but they do look quite complex!

Honestly a cheapo £10-20 stretchy off Amazon are good. I personally prefer 1 way stretch but lots prefer 2way. If you want a named brand, something like the Hannah wrap would do you well.

You do have to tie stretchy wraps but they're much easier than woven ones because you can tie it first and put the baby in later.

The tricky or individual part is working out whether you prefer a stretchier material or a firmer one. I prefer firmer and the best branded one I have tried is Boba.

Stretchy slings are great for the early days (I had a £15 wrap from Amazon), but you may wish to consider a slightly more structured sling once baby is older (mostly due to trying to get the heavier weight distribution right, plus reducing the faff)!

I'm pregnant with my second and intending to use my stretchy wrap for the first 6 months or so. I'll then move onto my Integra sling, which is very comfortable, I use it for long walks etc: integrababy.co.uk/

If you have a sling library in your area I'd recommend putting off buying a sling and waiting until you've had baby. They can then advise a sling to suit you both and fit it properly (this is how I found my Integra, I'd been struggling to find a sling that was comfortable, taking into account my slim frame, dislike of bulky straps and my chunky baby)!

Totally recommend Lifft slings - UK made and loads of colour options. Had a long weekend away in Edinburgh when DC1 was c.5 weeks old and didn't use the pushchair once. Really comfy and easy once you get use to them. One evening we ate out at Hard Rock Cafe and the waitress didn't realise I had a sleeping baby on me until she was clearing our plates! Using the sling again is one of the things I'm most looking forward to about DC2 due in April!

I have a Moby Wrap for a stretchy sling (you do have to tie/wrap it up, but you get used to it) and an Ergo Galaxy for a more structured buckled sling, but still close and cuddly. I used them both with my DD who is now nearly 7 and I am now 38 weeks pregnant with my second baby and looking forward to using them both again! I didn’t get the Ergo until DD was around 8 months last time, so this time I’ve bought an additional newborn insert for it so I can start using it with the little one. I think the Moby Wrap will be the best in the very early days, it’s so comfy and snuggly.
