Hey

So I've bleeding throughout my pregnancy on and off now I've gone to the toilet and wiped and there was a little blood clot I'm stressing and scared I don't have any pain and baby has kicked this morning but I'm really worried 😟

I have a low lying placenta so not sure if this is causing it? Should I ring the doctors?

Hey,

I also have a low lying placenta and I started bleeding a few days ago, I didn’t think much of it because I knew it was common with low lying placentas but I was advised to ring delivery suite they brought me straight through in an ambulance, checked to see where the bleeding was from , gave me an emergancy scan monitored the baby and gave me steroids they said because of having a low lying placenta it is very important to get checked out with any signs of bleeding they kept me in for 24 hours baby seemed to be ok and I haven’t bled since but deffonatley worth ringing and explaining just to get checked over and put your mind at ease!
Hope everything is ok xx

You should always give the doctor a call.

Ok I'll ring the doctors. I had a scan on Thursday and placenta has started moving slightly but still quite low she said she couldn't see any bleeding around the baby and baby was fine x

I had a low lying placenta and lots of bleeding. I ended up going into spontaneous labour and giving birth at 18 weeks. I would definitely recommend calling the maternity assessment unit and going in. It’s likely you’ll need bed rest - try not to pick up anything heavy etc. Good luck and let us know how you get on

Oh wow so sorry to hear that I will give them a call

Hi @Mylasmummy2102 I hope you’re ok?

The other reason I forgot to mention why I suggested you go in is because it can go horribly wrong with a low lying placenta- if you do go into labour at home or just keep bleeding the bleeding could escalate and you could lose a lot of blood.

When I was bleeding it was like a faucet had been turned on and I just couldn’t turn it off but I was in the best place possible- hospital and they had necessary arrangements (blood transfer etc) in place should I have needed it.

Hope things are ok with you and the baby.

After a very long 6 hour wait in maternity triage they have decided to keep me in because of the blood clots and baby heartbeat is a bit fast so being monitored over night xx

Glad to hear your being looked after Flowers

Greenbks · 22/02/2021 19:37

Glad you’re there. Try to rest (as much as that is possible) and hopefully the bleeding will stop soon. Keep us updated!

I'm out of hospital after 2 days they have said I have placenta previa and that bleeding is going to be an ongoing thing and every time I have red blood I need to go to the hospital I'm also being given extra scans to check babies growth and where the placenta is lying but currently on bed rest for a while x

Oh dear how worrying for you.
Good job they're keeping a closer eye on you though. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.
