Baby hiccuping - normal?

I am currently 33 weeks pregnant.

My baby keeps hiccuping. He normally has around 3-4 sessions of hiccups a day. I rang my MW but she didn't say anything about it.

Is this normal? I am so worried

Yes my DD, now 18 hiccupped lots when I was pregnant with her and all was well xxx

My first hiccupped all the way through pg- it was so weird! I would say that she also got hiccups a lot as a small child- every time she laughed she got them! She has grown out of it now (she's 15!)

My two hiccuped too!

Yes very normal.

Quit4me · 21/02/2021 01:12

Yes and expect a lot of hiccuping after baby is born also!

DramaAlpaca · 21/02/2021 01:13

Yes, totally normal. DS1 used to do this often in utero. He's 27 and I've never forgotten it. It's absolutely nothing to worry about, and really quite cute when you think about it - except when you are trying to sleep!

Yes my dd hiccuped loads in pregnancy and does so at 5 months old. In some cases, including hers, it can be linked to baby having reflux when they're a couple of months old.

Yes

Yes, very normal. It happens as the baby starts practising to breathe so it's a healthy sign. Don't worry about it.

My DS hiccuped frequently towards the end of my pregnancy! The frequency remained the same when he was a newborn.
