Cramping after near car accident

I'm 10+4 and last night I had horrendous cramps which made me drop to the floor. I rang 111 who sent me to a&e. I felt quite dismissed at a&e to be honest and after prodding my stomach and seeing me flinch in pain, he just sent me on my way and told me to come back if I start to bleed. I've been up in the night with it too.

Earlier in the day yesterday, I nearly had a car accident. I was driving along and someone didn't see me and pulled out, so I had to really suddenly slam on. I don't know if this is related to the cramps though.

I've had cramps throughout the last few weeks but it didn't feel like this, and it's in my back too.

What should I do? I don't want to bother my midwife if I'm just being over dramatic.

Are you able to phone your local EPU? Or if they won’t see you due to no bleeding, could you perhaps book yourself for a private scan?

I don’t think a call to your midwife would do any harm. She might contact EPU on your behalf, or she may just be able to reassure you.

I’m sure all will be fine, baby is so well protected and low down. It’s likely your muscles and body that is just hurting after having to tense up and go through that experience.

Ring your midwife or EPU asap

I'm sorry you have had a near miss, but honestly don't think it would affect the pregnancy in a way to cause miscarriage as baby is tiny and well tucked away. I was in a big car crash at 30 weeks pregnant and even then the baby was fine (had to spend the night in hospital after being cut out of the car..I was in shock but baby not bothered!)
I suspect the craps are unrelated to the near miss, but unless there is bleeding EPU don't do a lot :/

It's almost certainly fine - baby is tiny and well protected in there. There's nothing at all they can do this early unfortunately so NHS tend to be quite dismissive unless there's bleeding - not that that is helpful to your mental state. If you want to check you could book a private scan?

Your almost certainly fine, but call your midwife. Mine was very clear there is no concern too small or too weird for you to bother them with! Hope the cramps ease up soon!

Thanks for all your help. I've calmed down a bit and the cramping isn't as bad and still no bleeding.
Frightened me to death though 🙈 xx
