Bicornate Womb?

I had a scan today at 6+2 after a minor freak out this morning. Was very surprised and incredibly happy to see a bub, yolk sac AND a heartbeat! I was slightly baffled/surprised to be told I had a bicornate shaped womb which the sonographer explained to me in great detail (Think she was a little surprised too!)

I’ve since Googled this and totally freaked myself out (Yes, I know I’m an idiot), looking at statistics and horrendous stories. Has anyone else on her got a bicornate womb? Particularly interested to hear from anyone who has had a successful pregnancy from the right side; Did you carry to term etc?

I have a womb that is completely bicornuate and am currently pregnant with a baby in the right side. All good so far at 27 weeks

@LittleTiger007 Thank you! That is really reassuring to hear! Have you had any complications? I’d never even heard of a bicornuate womb until today! I think mine is quite significantly bicornuate, it had a noticeable septum/piece of tissue running through the centre. Have doctors or anyone mentioned anything about growth being impacted at all? Glad everything is working out for you! Smile

Another bicornuate here. Im nearly 25 weeks on the right side, I've had a difficult journey to get here, but that has had nothing to do with my womb shape. I had to have an MRI to diagnose how severe mine was (this was done a couple of years ago), and mine is completely split down the middle. I have received cervical length scans from 15 weeks to 24 weeks as premature labour is a risk for bicornuates (if it looks like your cervix is shortening they can give you progesterone shots and put a stitch in it to stop it) and I will also get growth scans from 28 weeks since I'm at risk of running out of room earlier. I would have a chat with a GP and ask go be referred to a consultant. If you want to know anything else message me Grin

Just as @basilsenia says! Good luck OP. All is good here so far.

Hi ladies, I've just found out I've got a bicornuate uterus so have been frantically researching trying to find out more information about it. I'm not pregnant but am trying to conceive and have had 4 very early losses (4-5 weeks) in the last 7 months. Did any of you have trouble conceiving/ keeping the pregnancy early on? According to my GP the shape of my uterus is not the reason for the miscarriages but having had so many I wonder if it has anything to do with it.
