Hey all
I'm 12 weeks pregnant and shouldn't be worrying about this already but i am 🤦🏽‍♀️
I'm stressing like crazy about how I'll survive on maternity pay so will need to get back to work ASAP really which makes me sad but don't have much choice!
How old were your babies when they went back - just looking for reassurance really so I don't feel awful ❤️

The English/ Welsh system is a bit of a mystery to me, everything is so completely different. It feels like we're in another world rather than just up the road. In general teaching is still tough here, but from what I read conditions are SO much better for us. We, especially, don't need to deal with the ins and outs of the academy/ grammar system. And our mat leave/ conditions seem better. I was told I was to 'continue with aqua natal classes' after the summer break as it was good for me and baby and I wouldn't be expected in school until 11am each Tuesday. This happened for each of my pregnancies (same school). We also have the Mc Crone agreement where you can work off site if you don't have classes. My DHT scheduled the timetable on all of my pregnancy years so I could go home early 2 days a week and also collect toddler/ young primary kids on those days to make my life easier. My last pregnancy i went home at lunchtime on 2 days, it was fantastic. I admit I am in a great school and have been here a long time , but where they can they make provision.
I've also brought in a child/ children/ a dog to my lessons when there's been an emergency/ hospital appointment later that day! I'm very lucky.

I hope you get it sorted OP, and are a bit calmer about it all.

I am the main breadwinner so we couldn't afford for me to be off for more than 5 months. However, we took shared parental leave so DP was off until DS was 1.
Have you looked into this/is this an option for you?
We would defo do shared parental leave again, and it has worked for friends of ours too....
