Baby breech

Hi all! Hope everyone is doing well.
I’m sure it’s been answered before but just looking for some peace of mind. I’m 35+5 (with my first) and I’ve been SO blessed with no nasty symptoms of pregnancy, it’s been a lovely process.

Head was engaged at my midwife app on 3rd Feb but, Sunday I felt this horrendous feeling whilst I was asleep to the point I thought I was hallucinating or something anyway turns out baby in now in breech position. I’m having a presentation scan on Friday and I suppose we’ll go from there.

I’m really worried/nervous/anxious about this now, is it something I’ve done? Did I sleep in a funny position? Is it due to me being stressed? (My mum was taken into hospital after suffering 2 heart attacks 4 days ago) Is there anything I can do to encourage little bump to move again?

I’ve discussed the options going forward where the consultant can try to manually move them or c-section but I’m anxious about it now and sleeping even less as I’m worried about my sleeping position too

I dont think it's anything you've done at all! Babies just move where and when they want to. I've had 5 scans since 20 weeks and baby has been head down at some and breech at some!

It won't have been anything you did! babies get themselves into all sorts of positions in there with no rhyme or reason. might be worth looking at the spinning babies website. lots of tips to try and turn babies on there. I had the ECV which was unsuccessful but I'm glad I tried it.

Not sure why babies turn round but I don't think it'll be anything you've done!
There are some exercises you can do to encourage babies to move, not sure if they work or not but rememeber looking them up when my DD was breech.
I had an ECV to turn baby at 37 weeks and it worked. It was pretty uncomfortable and quite intense but I preferred this option to a c section. I've heard of a lot of people picking to go for an elective though if you don't feel ecv is right for you or baby but it's personal choice!

It is nothing you have done, I was standing in the hospital waiting for a growth scan when the baby moved in a way that had me doubled over. Then the scan showed them footling breech. I was booked in to try and turn him the next morning but went into labour that night. Whilst being prepped for an emergency c section he literally kicked his foot out and I had to deliver naturally. It wasn’t what was wanted due to the potential risks but he didn’t give anyone a choice and was delivered safely and quickly with no intervention.
It is nothing you have done and the baby could move back again of their own accord. The important thing is you and the hospital are aware of it so can be prepared if it results in a c section.
