Alternatives to a moses basket?

I had a big baby first time round and a moses basket barely lasted. This time round im looking for an alternative to a moses basket for downstairs thats obviously bigger than a moses basket but not as big as like a bedside crib/cot. Be great if it could be moved around downstairs from room to room. Anyone seen or know of any good products that would be a good choice?

I used the carry cot of the pram for all downstairs sleeping until about 6 months. Even after that we used the seat bit for naps.

@addictedtotheflats omg how did i not even think about the carry cot of the pram 🙄 i found we barely used that part of the pram last time would mean you get your use out of it too especially the money you spend on it.

FTM here (due next week so this isn’t really advice as we aren’t doing it yet!) but we have a snuz pod for our bedroom and will use that instead of a Moses basket for daytime sleeping. (You can lift off the actual crib to move around the house). Bigger than a Moses basket.

Chicco Next to me or similar. I see them often on market place

I was the same as you OP. I had two big babies. With my eldest, he outgrew the carry cot and moses basket by 8 weeks.

I got a next to me for my youngest for upstairs in our bedroom. We used the carry cot for downstairs, which saved trying to carry something up and downstairs. I know it's against the "rules" but after six weeks, we started putting youngest upstairs for his naps. He kept getting woken up by his brother otherwise.

I never bothered with a Moses. Had a swing crib upstairs which was gorgeous and used my pram top downstairs.

I'm always a bit confused by people saying their babies grew out of their Moses baskets within weeks. Mine weren't exactly small babies, two were over 9lb at birth and seemed fine in them for several months.

Anyway, we used the pram downstairs for the first three, with the fourth we had a double pram that was too big to leave up so used the basket downstairs and a travel cot upstairs.

We used the carry cot from the pram

I've just bought the Kangu foldable crib for downstairs. I'm a FTM and not due until July so can't tell you how good it is I'm afraid. Just like the idea that it is easily movable and can be folded/stored away when not in use

We used this downstairs when we had our second as it kept him out of reach of our toddler DD. It’s got the newborn section so you don’t have to bend all the way down. www.boots.com/nuna-sena-travel-cot-graphite--10289418?cm_mmc=bmm-buk-google-ppc--PLAs--(GB:Whoop%21)+Nuna-_-(GB:Whoop%21)+Boots+Shopping+-+Category+-+Nuna+-+Mobile&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_pLLuo7u7gIVUu3tCh2N3wtPEAQYASABEgJ6G_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

I liked that it was mesh so I could still see him if I was playing with my DD while he slept.
