Baby is transverse at 36 weeks

As the title says, baby is transverse at 36 weeks, I have had placenta previa which is fine now but baby is transverse, I've got a scan on Monday to see if anything has changed and if it hasn't I'll be admitted.

So my question is, if you had this before, did you have to wait long for a c-section/how long were you in hospital for?

I had a transverse baby at 36 weeks with my first but have never known to be admitted for it. They offered to try and turn them, which worked.

My friend had the same with her last pregnancy but refused them trying to turn. She was never admitted and was sceduled a csection at 38+4

Thanks for sharing those experiences, I won't be trying to turn him either. I am going for an elective c-section anyway but they have said because of his position and he's flung the cord over his shoulder I'll be admitted until the section day, just don't want to be there for weeks when I have a toddler at home :(

My friend had an emergency c section and was in for 2 days, including her labour time.

Aw that sucks. From experience, they don't tend to do it before 38 weeks at least unless baby or mum is in danger

I found out also at 36 weeks I had a transverse baby the booked me in for c-section at 39 weeks. They explained about the importance of cord prolapse etc and if I went into labour I was to go immediately in. I did go into natural labour at 38.5 weeks, the labour stopped after a few hours but I was kept in for 3 days before the c-section just incase, I ended up having c-section on day originally planned.

Mine was transverse all along but they never admitted me. I was going for an ELCS anyway though after an EMCS followed a failed induction when I was overdue the last time so I guess there wasn't much fear of me going into labour! Had ELCS at 39+3.

I was in two nights. She was a big baby and I'm small so they had to do an extra incision in my uterus to get her out and I had a big loss but I wouldn't have known any different to my straightforward section the first time. All very positive.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone, baby still hasn't moved so c-section is booked for exactly 39 weeks.

Good luck with everything. Baby can still move. On day of my section he had moved again but had head facing hip instead of lying transverse.

Check spinning babies website, loads of resources on possible methods to naturally turn baby
