Hi I’m 19+2 weeks pregnant and I was out and I slipped in the snow and landed on the side of my thigh but I’m just getting paranoid about it being pregnant will my baby be okay? I didn’t fall on my belly or anything but still scary.

@Jessican I'm sure everything is absolutely fine!! Have you had any movement since? I would just give your midwife a quick call to put your mind at rest, but unless you feel onto your stomach I would imagine that baby is absolutely fine!!! Xxx

I had a fall on the ice about 4 weeks ago at nearly 28 weeks pregnant, and fell onto my hip/bum. I contacted my midwife who said to sit quietly and feel for movement. I know that might be hard at 19 weeks but they’re pretty well protected in there, especially if you didn’t fall on your bump.

If you’re very concerned absolutely contact your midwife!

I did similar when pregnant with DC3. In fact I seemed to lose all sense of balance in that pregnancy. I actually tore open the knees of my trousers and skinned my knees I fell so hard. But all was okay. They are well cushioned in there.

So long as you have no bleeding everything is likely to be fine. No harm in asking the midwife to check baby though.

Thank you all for your replies I have felt movement since so that’s more reassuring just scary especially when pregnant I’m so paranoid about everything

Oh you poor thing, I hope your ok. Glad you’ve felt movement but if your worried at all you can always call your midwife for advice.
Last week at 39w, I fell down a 1/2 flight of stairs on my bottom, got up then fell straight forward, right onto my bump onto a concrete path. Called triage and they got me in to check everything and apart from a bleeding knee and feeling a bit sore everything was fine. The midwife said baby is way more protected than we realise

@Youvegotafriendinme wow that doesn’t sound nice I’m glad it was on snow and grass rather than concrete he seems to be moving around a lot so I think that’s reassuring enough for me

I fell down the stairs at 20 weeks and hit my back quite hard on the banister. I felt very sorry for myself and didn’t think I felt as much movement because it was hard to feel over the pain in my back.

I had a scan booked for a few days later anyway and baby was absolutely fine. Honestly the sonographer pressed my belly far harder than the impact you’d get from most falls. My understanding is that so long as you don’t fall square onto a large pregnant belly the you’ll be fine Smile
