Pregnancy Books?

Hi all, I just got my BFP this week, currently 4(+4) weeks into my first pregnancy!

I'm delighted, but don't have much clue apart from the obvious for what to expect over the next 8 months!

So, I was looking for a book to do some reading up - however, there are so many options!! Any good recommendations?

The positive birth book and/or how to give birth like a feminist. Both by Milli Hill

Your No Guilt Pregnancy Plan: A revolutionary guide to pregnancy, birth and the weeks that follow

By Rebecca Schiller. Great recommendation and super glad I have read this! It's UK focused and just really informative and helpful. I'm on second pregnancy and wish this had been around for my 1st! Lot's of tips and great guidance.

I personally found pregnancy books a bit useless... I purchased a few as also thought it would be helpful for a first time mum.
But really, you get the info online when you need and if you have an app to follow your pregnancy there is also everything there.

I found awkward to read the books early on as i couldn't really picture anything. Instead i went through each week of pregnancy and learned as i went... not from the books at all.

What i am finding really helpful though now is books on birth and babies.
And i second the recommendation for the positive birth book!

@FTM91 @SunnySideUp2020 Thanks for these! I have looked up the positive birth book, and think I'll invest in that in later stages.

That was my worry SunnySideUp, that they'd all be pretty useless! But I feel I have no clue just now as a first timer. Maybe just google is ok! x

Bump by Kate Evans is very informative and user friendly.

She also has an excellent book on breast feeding if that's something you are considering called The Food of Love

Both available on Kindle I believe

Suppose I should add that I'm 35 weeks with dc3 and have used/referred to both in all 3 pregnancies

I liked How To Grow A Baby and Push It Out by Clemmie Hopper (I think)
Although she's fallen from favour now but was easy to read!

What to expect when your expecting is fab, alongside what to expect in the first year and second year 😀

I have ‘pregnancy the beginners guide’ from whsmith straight to the point and informative

I really like the Day-By-Day Pregnancy Book by DK. Literally covered everything and during the first pregnancy it was nice to have something small but new to read each day. I'm now 26 weeks pregnant with my second child and still enjoying referring back to the book now 😊
