Is it possible to mix and match private with NHS antenatal care?

Hi everyone!

I had a bit of a rubbish time with the NHS during my first pregnancy, and I'd rather not repeat the experience next time.

I'm keen to look at private options for scans, screenings, checkups, etc., but I don't feel the need to go private for the birth itself (especially as this is the bit that costs an absolute fortune privately).

Does anyone know if this mix-and-match idea is possible? The private hospitals and clinics offer lots of antenatal "packages", but they all include the childbirth bit.

Thank you!

Maybe a mix of The Fetal Meducine Centre and an independent midwife?
Are you in London?
And contact the hospital you would want to birth with and just notify them that you want to give birth there but will be having private antenatal care?

Or which hospital is the Lindo wing based in? Could you do antenatal through Lindo then give birth on the NHS side?

So I believe the answer is yes, eg the Harmony test is only available privately. But I struggled to find an obstetrician gynaecologist who did private obstetrics near me. Have you tried calling a private hospital for direction? Or any obstetricians PAs? I'm struggling with NHS care and whilst I know I'm in no danger the information given is so hit and miss I don't know what I'm consenting to half the time. If I lived closer to London I would have gone private for certain. Will watch this thread with interest.
