Please help? So over the past few years I've gone to brown to blonde brown to blonde and again so many times. My hairs now a short bob, thick but my hair is damaged I'd say at least half way up my head, not fried or anything, just dry with split ends. I only wash it and straighten it once or twice a week now. And it is growing, however I've just put a brown box dye on and a bit of hair has come out? I normally get a few come out after washing anyway or like little split ends... but never this much, I'm 19 weeks pregnant also could this be to do with anything? Anyone had this before? And before you say don't dye it... my roots are white and my hairs brown so I have to dye it at least once a month 😕 please help guys!

Hey... so I was in a pretty similar situation to you and I have dyed mine twice during this pregnancy. I’m currently 33 weeks and from around 14-20 weeks my hair started to shred similar amount to your picture, which alarmed me!! The good news is that, from 25 weeks it’s started to grow QUICK and the shredding stopped, it definitely feels better as well. So yes it could be pregnancy related as mine was, I wish I was one of the lucky ladies who gets luscious pregnancy hair 😂 x

@Doodles9 that has made me feel slightly better I'm not going to lie 😂 it's just never happened before and I rarely do anything with my hair now and all over google it says it's very unusual for your hair to shred! You can see my scalp ffs so I'm so self conscious now and worried it's going to get worse 😂 x

The NHS website says:

Do remember that pregnancy can affect your hair's normal condition. For example, your hair may:

react differently to colouring or perming than it usually does
become more or less absorbent, frizzy or unpredictable
It's always a good idea to do a strand test first using the hair dye or treatment you intend to use. Speak to your hairdresser for advice.
