Does anyone have any recommendations for first time parent books? I've had a quick google but I'm so overwhelmed with how many there are! Thank-you in advance!

@Jade97 I’ve just started reading this: www.amazon.co.uk/First-Time-Parent-honest-brilliantly-staying/dp/0007269447/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=the+first+time+parent&sprefix=the+first+time+p&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1612033146&sr=8-1

Was lent to me by a friend and is full of practical and helpful advice from birth to 1 year ☺️

Not a book, but I did the free online 2 hour antenatal class by the Baby Academy this morning and it was great! I was skeptical as I knew they were only running it to get people to sign up to the full day class later on which is around £100-150 but it was great and we actually ended up signing up for the full day class as well!

What to expect when you are expecting...

Great book, especially around childhood illnesses Wink

I’m mostly commenting to follow the thread, as it’s a minefield isn’t it but I also want to buy some books.
Again, not a book, but I think I’m going to buy into The Positive Birthing Company’s resources.

I really like ‘The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read’ by Philippa Perry and ‘Unconditional Parenting’ by Alfie Kohn.
