Shall I tell work I’m pregnant

So I’m about 8 and half weeks and I’m debating whether to tell work I’m pregnant because I only started 4 months ago and I’m on a 6 month probationary period so they decide after the 6 months whether to keep me on or not so obvs if I tell them now they probably will get rid of me. But the thing is I work in a shop and some of the shifts include heavy lifting like next Sunday they’ve put me down for a fill shift which is pulling heavy supermarket cages about and stacking the shelves and unloading the boxes, I had a misscarriage in October which they know about so I’m worried to tell work incase I have another one, things are looking more promising this time as I’ve been for scans and they’re looking good ect but I feel sort of embarrassed to tell them I’m pregnant again as I’m only 20 and I’m worried what they might think being pregnant twice in less than 6 months ect ... so I just don’t know what to do.

If you're doing any kind of work that could put you in danger of a miscarriage then you must tell them. The job is really not worth putting your health or your pregnancy at risk. Once the company knows they should do a risk assessment and make sure you're not doing anything dangerous.

Companies are not allowed to make employment decisions based on your pregnancy. They would have to have an issue with your performance and they'd need to discuss this with you in advance and give full details. Of course some unethical companies do break these rules but most would be very very reluctant to terminate a pregnant employees contract without some solid evidence of wrongdoing.

Also don't worry what people in the company will think of your pregnancy. Most people are too wrapped up in their own lives to give it much thought and those that do care to have an opinion on it probably need to find themselves a hobby!

1 who cares what they think about being pregnant again, I'm pretty sure they'll not be too surprised if they know about your mc. They're still going to get months of work out of you yet anyway.
No heavy lifting in pregnancy is not quite right, I still do powerlifting in the gym twice a week. If you feel like a risk assessment would make you feel more comfortable though, tell them. Those cages can be quite hazardous so understand you not wanting to do too much with them.
