Hi ladies, I’m 36 weeks now and feeling immense pressure in my pelvis, constantly going to the loo as well and have a consistent full lower back ache. Could this mean labour is starting soon? I have been having trouble sleeping last few nights as laying down just isn’t comfortable anymore. First baby so don’t know what to look out for.

Did you have your 36 weeks midwife appt? It wouldn't hurt to call triage for advice

If it's a constant pain I wouldn't think so as it's more waves of pain in early labor. No harm in asking the midwife team for advice, even if it's nothing they will be happy to check you over.

I’m also 36 weeks but with my third, generally speaking it gets very uncomfortable at this stage. I’ve not been able to sleep since about 30 weeks and I get terrible back ache and the pressure you are describing. It isn’t a sign of anything other than it’s running out of space in there (to me) but if you think yours is more like contractions by all means ring. In my experience you can certainly tell the difference between labour contractions and general niggles you get this far in. I have been woken up with terrible cramps in the night the past 2 weeks too, again I know what a contraction feels like so I feel more confident ignoring it.

I'm 35 weeks and have had similar symptoms (going to the loo, back pain) and terrible cramping for a week. I called the triage eventually even though I was pretty certain it wasn't contractions and they brought me in for a check up. I was told it was probably the result of SPD (relaxin) and the fact that the baby's growing fast and running out of space and it's like that for FTM.
I got some codeine for the pain.
I hope OP that it's the same in your case and it's just our pain and discomfort and there's nothing wrong with the babies!

Thank you ladies, the lovely ladies at triage told me I was having Braxton hicks. Blimey, if this is bad I am dreading actually contractions

I’m 36 weeks too and feel exactly the same. Could it be that baby is engaged? As I had my 36 week appointment and midwife said baby is 3/5 engaged and that’s the pressure I feel, the back ache is constant and I cannot get comfortable to sleep. I’ve also had my pelvic pain increase too which is weight of baby pressing down. It’s all good signs though so I’m not complaining Grin
