First Trimester - trapped wind!

Hey All

Has anyone else experienced severe trapped wind during the first trimester?!

I've had it twice now but was looking into what to do to ease it -it's saying avoid certain foods and lots of water!

One site said take peppermint oil capsules but any i find says if pregnant see a medical professional before taking them which means to me don't take them!

I think the main thing is I'm soo lacking energy and not doing anything!xx

Yes! I’ve suffered pretty badly with this. I take rennie deflateine when it gets pretty bad. I asked the doctor in the EPU if it was ok and they said it was fine. I try to limit it to only 2 or 3 a week so only when it’s really bad

Exercise could help, go out for a short walk. I know how hard it is when you're suffering with fatigue but it will do you good.

Exercise and, for immediate relief, stretches (I used to get this from certain foods pre pregnancy).

Best for me was to lie on your back, bring your knees up to your check and then move them to the right while you stretch your arm and face the other way, then move your legs to the left and look the other way.

And sitting on your knees and gently twisting from side to side. This may help! www.healthline.com/health/digestive-health/how-to-fart#foods-and-drinks

Hot water can help. Are you sure that is what’s wrong, DH had severe pain in his abdomen that he thought was trapped wind. He had a severe UTI which the hospital first diagnosed as a kidney stone when I forced him into the car to ooh. He had no burning when peeing, no urgency to go etc

Try rennies, they helped me shift wind especially before bed and wanted sweet relief. I've also found sparkling water can help if you get a big burp afterwards. Also try lemon juice in hot water as the warmth can help move it along.

Peppermint tea and fybogel

Yes I’m the same! Tennis deflatine and leaning forward on all fours to try and release are the only things that seem to have worked!
