Miscarriage in their 20s?

haidri · 23/01/2021 09:41

I'm a healthy 24 year old with no underlying conditions nor family history, whose had two miscarriages in a year.

Anyone with a story of miscarrying at 20s? I seem to find 30s & over with difficulties ttc

I miscarried in dec 2018 at 6 weeks, June 2019 and September 2019. I was 25/26 at the time.
This was after having my first child 7 weeks early at 22 and it took over a year to fall pregnant again just to lose them.
However I fell pregnant again in December 2019 and my second child was born 4 weeks early in July so there is always hope

Forgot to add that my mc's were at 6 weeks, mmc at 10 weeks but didn't deliver till 15 weeks in a botched medical management that left me hemorrhaging and a chemical at 4 weeks

@Mammyofasuperbaby did you do anything differently next time round? Or did you cling onto faith more than ever???
@Teakind to have two miscarriages in less than 6 months has left 1% hope in me..
I had two miscarriages in the space of 6 months. After lots of research I discovered one thing a recurrent miscarriage clinic would try is low dose aspirin so on my third pregnancy I took 150mg a day from a positive test. The result is my 13 month old son. I'm now pregnant again following him, have been doing the same re aspirin and I'm almost 18 weeks.

I'm not a medical professional but I was desperate and took matters into my own hands.

Oh and you can buy them in places like Wilko and B&M. 80p a packet. It may have been coincidence but by God I'm glad I've done it.

@3rdtimelucky2019 isn’t baby aspirin 75mg? I think that’s the recommended dose for miscarriages.

OP, it’s definitely worth speaking to your doctor about taking this (I’m not sure if you have any conditions where you shouldn’t take blood thinners). It can certainly be helpful for some women.

meltedgalaxy · 24/01/2021 15:42

I had one at 27, no previous issues. No reason for it to happen really, it just happened

Ive read both options. By the time it got to my booking appointment I was told to take it (150mg) anyway due to family history of preeclampsia until 26 weeks.

@haidri, No I'd actually stopped trying as I became very ill after my last miscarriage (not realated) and was in and out of hospital with a possibly failing liver. I was waiting for surgery to fix the issue and was rushed into hospital on my 26th birthday because of the illness, to be told that I was also pregnant. That was a shock. I never let my self belive that he'd be born as I was just waiting for it to go wrong again. Ironically my illness cleared right up on its own (unheard of) and he was born early due to lack of growth. We did nearly lose him at 3 weeks old due to a birth defect but hes happy and healthy now.
Like you I had no faith in my body as my pregnancies have either resulted in miscarriage or life threatening illnesses for me and my babies but I guess the universe wanted us to have our earth bound children and heaven needed my angels more than we did

My mom got married in June & m/cd in July -- she was 17+5months old in that July.

She lost count of miscarriages she had after that -- she wasn't upset by them so they were mostly not memorable. She had healthy full term pregnancies, too.

It happens, Haldri, there's not always a diagnosable reason. I have had three miscarriages and there was nothing wrong with me. I'm sure you'll conceive in time and produce a healthy baby, please don't worry about it. Maybe wait a bit before trying again.
