I've just come across spritz for bits on the internet & am thinking of buying it for labour
I'm reading reviews but there either for or against
Doesn't really help

Has anyone used it & would rate it ?

Say what now?

RickiTarr · 22/01/2021 21:37

What is it? Fanny fragrance? Hmm

Wigglegiggle0520 · 22/01/2021 21:38

I didn’t think it was for labour.

I made my own with essential oils post birth.

Much cheaper and you can add the oils directly to the bath or maternity pads.

I used lavender and tea tree.

ronswansonstache · 22/01/2021 21:39

It was nice and soothing in the days following birth - I sprayed it on and lay on a maternity mat for a some pad free time to help healing. However I'm not sure it warrants the price tag - IIRC it was about £15 and I probably used it half a dozen times. It's certainly not an essential purchase.

Cressie2 · 22/01/2021 21:39

I have just been recommended this too. It’s meant to be brilliant post birth, has lots of healing properties and everyone I know that has had a baby cannot stop talking about how good it is. I will be purchasing this myself.

Nowisthemonthofmaying · 22/01/2021 21:39

I just bought some witch hazel and put it into a spray bottle - it's basically the same thing but much cheaper!

No, it’s soothing for stitches and tears post-birth. You can spray it on a maternity pad.
RickiTarr · 22/01/2021 21:45

Wouldn’t Evian spray do the job and more besides?

RickiTarr · 22/01/2021 21:47

Or you can buy ordinary witchhazel anywhere for about three quid a bottle.

Unless there is a super dooper USP I’m missing?

I don’t know, I haven’t used it, but I have heard of it and was just letting you know it’s not a “fanny fragrance”, whatever that is.
MaizeBlouse · 22/01/2021 22:09

I used this after my second birth @Ksi91. It was so great and definitely aided recovery. I bought it kind if thinking I'd wasted my money and didnt actuslly use it straight away but it genuinely was fantastic!

RickiTarr · 22/01/2021 22:13

I was being tongue in cheek @LittleRa but I am still confused and something tells me not to google. Grin

PFin · 22/01/2021 22:19

Ive been reading up on this too. Defo agree some people seem to have really loved it and others think it was a waste. I personally plan on buying it, a friend of mine raved about it after pregnancy she said it really helped her first pee's not sting as much and she also sprayed it directly onto maternity pads before she put them on as there ingredients like witch hazel in it that is good for healing. If it helps im prepared to pay 😂

Floozymum · 22/01/2021 22:20

Honestly I used it and found it really good. My episiotomy healed up very quickly, and I found there was little to no stinging when I pee'd either, so I'm guessing it was because of that

newmummy8789 · 22/01/2021 22:24

I used it.
It was amazing.
I kept it in the fridge- it felt so good!!
I'd definitely recommend and I'll buy it again x

SenoraSurf · 22/01/2021 23:21

I also used it and was brilliantly for helping me recover from my tear. It didn't sting and felt very cool and refreshing. I would consider it an essential based on my experience using it.

Littlejacksmummy · 22/01/2021 23:44

This is essential in my book! Helped instantly. Sprayed on after a pee and heavily sprayed onto maternity pad. Instant relief!

peachypetite · 23/01/2021 09:33

I never experienced stinging after my birth despite a tear. If you end up having a c section you won’t even use it. Personally I’d wait and see if you need it and you can have it the next day on Amazon prime.

It can be used on c-section scars too.
India999 · 23/01/2021 11:47

I bought it for after birth but never ended up using it. I had an episiotomy (cut) to prevent tearing which is very common, and the midwifes were adamant to not use it on tears or cuts. I think if you're lucky enough to have neither and just bruising and soreness, go for it, but it seems to be abit of a gimmick. Even with stitches and bruising I healed naturally quite quickly and didn't feel like I missed it.
