I have a 2.8 year old ds and had a mmc back in august, i thought i was 12 weeks but baby stopped growing at 4 weeks, so very early on. I found out i was pregnant again 2 weeks ago after trying for 4 months however, at now 6 weeks pregnant i have caught covid and and terrified it might somehow harm baby! Has anyone else caught covid at 6 weeks and all turned out to be okay? Thank you for reading

I caught Covid at around 10 weeks and baby was fine! I don't think they're too concerned about pregnant and Covid until 26 weeks and even then there is no evidence that it causes complications.

Thank you very much, that's so reassuring x

The only issues with covid and pregnancy are in the third trimester when your lung capacity is reduced due to the baby's size.

If you develop the complications from covid the reduced lung capacity can make recovery harder.

@Carcarcarcar I can't help you I'm afraid, but I hope everything is well, @SS123456 may be able to offer you some reassurance though xxx

So sorry to hear. I have had covid twice during this pregnancy i tested positive at 7 weeks and 21 weeks. Try not to stress too much. Theres no evidence to show that pregnant woman of unborn babies are at any higher risk until later on on pregnancy. All has been fine with my pregnancy, 12 week scan fine and 20 week scan to pick up on abnormalities went well. Obviously when i was sat at home stressed, pregnant and covid positive thoughts spiral and I still get the odd niggling thought off omg if when baby is born somethings wrong, or what if baby develops something later on because i had Covid. But for now all i can do is care for my baby as best I can.

Hi - I had COVID at around 5 weeks pregnant. It was awful trying to manage the lethargy and nausea but I can’t be sure whether it was a normal part of pregnancy or COVID. It has taken me longer than my husband to recover but generally all ok. I had an early scan which showed everything was ok - I was very pleasantly surprised! All the medics I spoke to in those couple of weeks were unanimous that there is little evidence of increased risk/complications at such an early stage of pregnancy. Hope that helps!

I’ve literally just found out I’m pregnant so very early. I also found out I was Covid positive at the beginning on the week. I’ve been in contact with track and trace who aren’t concerned. Like PP said it’s concerning in the last trimester due to reduced lung capacity.
I guess the thing to look out for is your heart rate, in the first trimester your heart rate is increased, and Covid can also cause an increase. I’ve been given an oximeter just to monitor oxygen levels and hear rate

Thank you all for your messages, so far i haven't been affected too badly, just headache, aching limbs and fatigue. Because i am around the time that i miscarried last time and back then i thought i was 'healthy' so to speak, i am now worried that because im poorly that maybe i will miscarry again (silly i know) as soon many pregnant women are become ill and go on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies . @PFin gosh twice! That must have been terrible! Covid has been rife at work at the moment as i am in the health care sector so really it was going to happen at somepoint. @leah2501 thankyou i hadnt thought of that x

Try to stay hydrated, rest, dont be scares to take parcetemol and take all your vitimins. Im admin in a busy chain of grocery stores so always around alot of staff/customers/delivery drivers so I wasnt surprised when I got it, but 2nd time was a bit of a blow. I told my midwife who just told me the above advice. However, i seen another poster on here asking a similar question and she said her midwife gave her some blood thinning injection you do yourself at home to reduce risk of clots due to reduced movements when suffering COVID. She was defo alot further on tho if i remember right, so maybe doesnt apply so early.
