EMCS last time, should I be consultant led this time?

After last time’s disaster (baby ended up in NICU, all fine in the end but not fun) I’d like an ELCS this time. They said something about a consultant appointment and that it would be booked in, but nothing yet and I’m now 22 weeks and a bit. Obvs appreciate that things are a bit chaotic at the moment, but I thought consultant led involved an appointment at 20 weeks? Just not quite sure. Does anyone know? Thanks.

I was ELCS with both of mine and didn't see consultant until 28 weeks I think - it was late on though

I had an EMCS last time and was told that this would mean I would be consultant led again. They booked my first consultant appt at my dating scan clinic and it's at 22 weeks.

That’s helpful. I thought first appointment happened round about now, but not sure! And obvs don’t want to hassle them given the difficulties at the moment...

I had a planned section due to transverse baby and am consultant led this time. Had my first appointment at 22 weeks and this was about the VBAC, I'm 24 weeks now.

I booked my ELCS at 12 week cons appt but that was because I was a high risk pregnancy anyway and when my midwife booked me in said there was no way I was delivering vaginally after what happened during my first birth. However I don’t think that is the norm most of my friends who have been cons led/requesting electives have seen the cons anywhere between 20-28 weeks

Just as an update: I would speak to my midwife because my appointments were made through the midwife who looked at my "birth history" in September, I got the letters through form the hospital the week after and I'm due in May. She might have missed that you're classed as high risk and should be consultant led. I would give them a ring just in case.

It could be that all is in order but just because it's so different to what I'm experiencing.
