Hi I'm 34+ 3 weeks pregnant and when I went for my scan a couple days ago they told me she was sitting breech I am just wondering has anyone got any tips on how I could try to turn her head down? Also I've been suffering with really bad pelvic pain does anyone have any tips on that? Sometimes I can just about walk it's horrendous🤦🏼‍♀️ x

Don’t worry too much, there is still plenty of time for her to turn. Sitting on a birthing ball can help.

I've only got a week until due date and I'm pretty sure mine is sitting breach. Will find out tomorrow at my last appointment. Still enty of time to turn. Dont know why they tell people that so early on.
As for the pelvic pain 9ve had the same for weeks. My public bone feels like it's splitting in half but I don't think there's anything they can actually do about it.

Pelvis partnership (for the pelvic pain)

Thank you for the reply's! The pelvic pain is horrendous can't sleep or anything with it but honestly not sure why it's this bad when she's sitting breech x

I had horrific PGP from around 15 weeks or so. NHS will do absolutely nothing about it, the most I got was a call every two weeks from a physiotherapist to say “is it any better yet?” I always thought yes it’s getting better but no thanks to you! I had to see a private osteopath that specialised in pregnant women for months and it really helped. It had pretty much gone by 32 weeks. Also a pregnancy support belt was a god send.

My baby was breech the whole pregnancy, at every scan they would say plenty of time to turn until I was 36 weeks and still not. They offered me the turning procedure but I just went with a section. I had heard the spinning babies websites has some good info though

@CBhope I've been the exact same to be honest from the start been in agony and my hospital just fob me off too I've managed to get a support belt of my midwife so I am waiting to pick that up so hopefully that will help and I really hope she turns for me because I really don't want to have to get a c section I am petrified of getting that epidural I've been doing a few excersises that are suppose to help but I don't think she has turned just yet as I get pressure under my ribs and feel a lot of kicking down below x

If you really don't want a c-section I would try the ECV if its offered to you. I had a breech baby from 31 weeks and I tried the ECV. It didn't work for me and I ended up with a planned C-section which I was gutted about. The procedure was uncomfortable but far better than the c-section recovery as it was very short lived. My c-section was straightforward but ibuprofen and paracetamol didn't cut it after major abdominal surgery!

The lower of our twins turned breech somewhere between 32 & 36 week checkups. They will not attempt to turn a twin as success rates for singletons are low enough. I was booked for cesarean but they did say if she turned on her own I could go natural, she didn't turn. I had cesarean at 38wk, was up walking within 12 hours of surgery despite large blood loss but did feel like hard work. The next day after having the catheter out I felt fine, showered wandered about and didn't need pain relief at all. I did get an infection in my scar because the stitches didn't dissolve as they should but it wasn't painful and antibiotics and pulling out the undisolved stitching allowed it to heal. I was able to get back to doing everything but heavy lifting once home the next day. I forget about my scar mostly, can be a bit tender for a day after heavy deadlifts in the gym though. My mum had me terrified of cesareanas, she said hers with me was awful but I found it to be no big deal.

My DD didn’t turn after turning breech at 32 weeks. I had a c section at 37 weeks.

CBhope · 20/01/2021 08:00

Honestly don’t be scared of the spinal, I was petrified but I’d do it again in a heartbeat it was absolutely fine, pretty much pain free and I am a wuss! The recovery wasn’t great but that was because the midwives were awful and I couldn’t have anyone else there for support so I over pushed myself. I truly believe it would have been a much quicker recovery if I had the support in the initial few days.

I was always told baby has time to turn but I just knew he wouldn’t. You could always opt for the ECV but I didn’t want to take the risks for only a 50% of it working whereas a section is very controlled

CBhope · 20/01/2021 08:02

Oops you can tell I wrote that last sentence after a long night with a newborn! 😬

EllisRoses · 20/01/2021 08:24

My son was breech throughout the entire pregnancy. I tried things on the spinningbabies website, I tried moxibustion and nothing worked. I was offered an ECV to try and turn the baby and declined. I opted for a section. I was gutted at first but honestly it was absolutely fine and I had nothing to be scared of. I hope your baby turns OP but even if they don't, it'll be ok!
