I’m currently 15 weeks pregnant.. I have recently started losing my appetite compared to my original first trimester diet which was constant eating!!!! D:!! And I put on a stone and a bit..

Now I’m in my second trimester my appetite has dropped.. I’m not eating half as much as I was.. and I’ve lost weight.. I’ve been told by many that losing weight isn’t a good idea and to keep or maintain weight for healthy growth

I just want outsiders opinion really because trying to get information during Covid 19 no one wants to see you or speak face to face

Please help me ease my mind! Xx

As long as you’re not intentionally trying to lose weight, are eating healthily and regularly and baby is growing then don’t worry. I’m 38 weeks and only put on 2.5kg throughout pregnancy, midwife isn’t worried and baby is growing fine.

I guess every pregnancy is different..

My body hasn’t adapted very well to the change either as my job is currently under lockdown because it’s airport work which is increasingly heavy lifting and fast pace... which I can’t do anymore I was furloughed instantly
And the no smoking plus lack of exercise I’ve just shot up in weight...

I was a little worried about my weight increase I’ve only come down by like 1kg

I just didn’t want to cause any harm

How was your weight pre-pregnancy? If you weren't underweight and you're not actively trying to loose weight it's not usually a cause for concern.

Appetite can come and go, I remember being ravenous during the first trimester with both pregnancies, it tapered off during the second trimester and could barely eat during the third as there just wasn't space for food later on. As long as baby is growing and you're eating a healthy diet it's all that matters and you'll start being measured at midwife appointments after 20 weeks.

The second trimester is an odd time, the symptoms from the first 12 weeks ease, you get a bump but it's not huge yet.

I was dead on 30 BMI so some say is borderlining overweight

So I’m not thing but not big..
I have had no appointments made for being measured or anything like that.. no one wants to come in contact with anyone in my town ( we have a very high Covid number) so I have a 20 week scan in about a month and then after that I’m not going to be seen until 32 weeks

It’s more relaxed then I was told.. I was told I would be in and out of appointments for such things like measuring.. bloods.. check ups scans etc

You don't really need to be seen that often, you might get an appointment between those. My trust just make them as you're there- so you only have 1 booked at a time and I know some are being done by phone with Covid.

Try not to worry about every little thing and enjoy your pregnancy 😊
