9 weeks and barely any symptoms

Hi everyone.

I’m now 9 weeks and 2 days, this is my first. I’m starting to get concerned as the only symptom I have had is tiredness but even that isn't that bad. I keep waiting for sore boobs to kick in but they’re completely normal. Should I be concerned? My first scan isn’t until middle of feb, and I’m wondering whether anyone recommends booking an early scan privately?

I haven’t had any bad symptoms which is good I guess but I read online something about silent miscarriages and now I’m worrying.

Any advice/ knowledge would be much appreciated. Thank you

Hey OP, I’m a little behind you at 8+1 but this is my second. I haven’t had any symptoms aside from a little tiredness in either pregnancy! I had an early scan last time as I was anxious but also had some spotting and everything was fine. I had a very straight forward and easy pregnancy. I’m much more laid back this time so will wait for my 12 week NHS scan.
Good luck with whatever you decide Smile

Hi, I wouldn't worry. Currently 31+4 with my first and I was exactly the same. I've had a pretty easy and straight forward pregnancy and my only symptom in the first trimester other than going off meat and chicken which started at about 8 weeks was the tiredness. I never had, and still don't have, sore or bigger boobs and I remember thinking the same thing as it always seemed that everyone else had sore boobs as their main symptom. At around 5-6 weeks I was always waking up in the night with terrible menstrual type cramps and was convincing myself I was having a miscarriage but after a quick Google found out these were normal early pregnancy cramps, although I still ended up doing 2 more pregnancy tests after that to check I was still pregnant! I had a private scan at 8 weeks, but the only reason was to find out how far along I was as there was a bit of a question mark over that for reasons. But honestly, I wouldn't worry. The wait for that 12 week scan feels like a life time!

@CC90 hi ☺️ I’m 12 weeks with my first and I’ve had very few symptoms. My main symptom has been sore boobs since my BFP, but otherwise I’ve just had very minimal nausea here and there and that’s near enough it! I’ve had two scans so far, one of which was at EPU two weeks ago and baby is doing really well and had even got ahead by 4 days from the previous scan. From what I understand some women’s body’s just deal better with pregnancy hormones, which mean skews symptoms. Think it’s pot luck whether you get lots of symptoms or not x

Thank you @MintGreenLife , that has reassured me. Glad to hear your baby is doing well.

It’s a weird time this first 12 weeks before the first scan, especially with hardly any symptoms to say your pregnant. I’m going to try and not worry too much.

Hi @CC90 just wanted to reply and offer some reassurance as Last week I could have written that myself as I've had almost no symptoms apart from feeling slightly more tired than usual. I'm 10 weeks now. Like you, I was really really worried about this so had a private scan last week and saw that everything is absolutely fine. I can't tell you how reassuring that was so in answer to your question about early scans, if it's something you can afford to do then I'd personally recommend it but equally, it seems like no/minimal symptoms is actually pretty common! I had my booking appt with the midwife recently and she said that some women will just have more subtle and mild symptoms, so things like constipation, minor food aversions, mild tiredness, very occasional and mild queasiness and that these are still symptoms, not everyone has full blown sickness and so now I just feel so so lucky to not feel awful xx

RustyCat · 17/01/2021 18:34

I wouldn't worry hun. I am 22+6 with twins and I had literally no symptoms bar the odd bout of nausea 🤣.

Lack of symptoms is not always a bad thing. Alot of people believe when they are pregnant they will get all the symptoms and feel horrific but it's not always the case.

Thank you everyone for all your comments. You have all put my mind at rest, glad to know a lot of you didn’t experience symptoms and everything has turned out ok.

Good luck everyone in your pregnancy journeys x

I had a mmc back in April last year and the only symptoms I’d really had was insomnia for a week and weird dreams and exhaustion, and then all of a sudden it all disappeared.
This time round I had the same, insomnia for around 6 weeks though, weird dreams and exhaustion in first trimester. I’m now 30 weeks and starting to get aches and pains but generally I’ve not really had any symptoms! I think I was sick maybe 3 times overall but that was purely down to exhaustion rather than morning sickness! I count myself lucky at this point 😂

Hi Everyone, Just thought i would update you all, and in case anyone else comes across this post who is in the same position.

Couldn't wait any longer so had a private scan today, I can happily say that I'm measuring 12 weeks (so im further along than I thought) it was moving lots and we saw a heartbeat! Cant believe it, honestly NO symptoms what so ever, I convinced myself it was going to be the worst outcome. So Happy!

Thank you for all your comments, they definitely give me reassurance until I began googling again. Definitely worth the private scan.

Hi, I wouldn't worry at all. If anything, you should feel lucky you don't have sickness ect.
I've had no symptoms except from some tiredness with all my pregnancies.
I'm now 32 weeks with my 3rd.
The pregnancy I had a MC I actually had sickness ect.
So it doesn't mean anything at all
