Just curious to know how other mum's resting heart rates have changed in the later stages of pregnancy if you've worn a Fitbit etc?
Mine generally increased all the way up to about week 36 when it peaked at 94 for a day and it's now (at 38+1) gradually coming down and is at 86.

I'm currently 31 weeks and it's anywhere between 55-65 - hasn't gone over 65 just yet. My resting HR was always been between 40-45 though before I got pregnant so guess that makes a difference!

I'm 29 weeks and my heart has been misbehaving I've had to have a 24 h tape done and all sorts as it goes so High
Resting is between 90-100 the minute I eat it's 140

Just looked back at mine. It was 63 when I conceieved and increased to 67 when I was 7 months. Then it fell rapidly to 57 when I gave birth. Since giving birth a year ago it has increased gradually and averages around 60.

It's incredible what our bodies do to adapt!

My pre pregnancy RHR was about 69-70 and it increased to around 77 by the end of the first trimester and then up to around 84-85 by the end of the second. In the third it's mostly been around 88 until week 34 (not 36 as I thought) when it rocketed up to 94 over the space of 5 days and has been coming down ever since. So i'm just intrigued if that is normal for the very end of pregnancy as I've still got 2 weeks to go. I didn't have a Fitbit in my first pregnancy so have nothing to compare to and there's so little info about it online!

Fizzy - that's bizarre - do you thinks it's your blood pressure? My MW said blood rushes to your digestive system when you eat which causes a drop in blood pressure and your heart rate will rise to compensate.

Mine usually sits between 10/20 extra from pre-pregnancy. With our twins it was over 100 at rest and everting felt like a workout lol, I was not as fit in general back then though. I find that my resting heart rate jumps up after I eat too so bear that in mind when you are tracking yours, digestion need the extra.

Currently 36 weeks and it’s sitting at 67... peaked at at 76 around 31w and was low 40s pre-pregnancy. I don’t think mine can be very accurate though - it suggested I was extremely fit pre-preg where “moderately” would’ve been generous 😂

CheeseandWine91 · 18/01/2021 14:42

My resting is anywhere between 80-95 and I am 26 weeks, so about to go into my 3rd trimester.
I am very active and fit person and before pregnancy it was 60-65 so I am surprised how much it has climbed - I am putting it down to my anxiety Hmm

Mimba1 · 18/01/2021 17:15

Mine was around 50bpm pre-PG. Now regularly sits around 90-100bpm (28 wks) and feels like it's racing all the time - horrid feeling! I also have low BP - measures about 100/60 at the MW but they always take it just after they've asked me to haul myself off the bed or something. At home it's more like 80/50. Definitely have to keep very hydrated or I start feeling like death!

OnNaturesCourse · 18/01/2021 22:19

Highest mine has been was mid 90s around 33-35 weeks. I'm 36+4 now and it's been roughly 80-85 for the past few days so I suspect it's falling again.

I was about 65-70 pre pregnancy.

When it's over 90 I find it's horrible and I feel like it's hammering it's way out my chest especially when I'm lying down, sets my anxiety which in turn increases my HR and BP. No win situation.

Strawbubble · 02/02/2021 22:59

Mine has fluctuated since that brief moment of 94 RHR down to 85 for a day at 39w+6 and now sitting at 88 at 40+4. I'd read somewhere that it can peak in your third trimester - it wasn't clear what that meant but I guess it wasn't saying it peaks just as you go into labour so some where in the last few weeks it likely goes down.

@OnNaturesCourse - definitely same here - I was struggling when my RHR was over 90. My bpm in the day can rocket quickly and I find having a shower the worst!! Can easily hit 140bpm just get washing my hair Grin and it's hard not to get into a cycle. Hopefully yours is settling more now 🤞

I'm only 4weeks today, my heart rate has dropped 11 bpm in 2 days, I may have not been quite as busy than beginning of the week.

Little worried, is this bad?

Strawbubble · 05/02/2021 22:34

@babybumpfor2021 everyone's RHR seems to do something different throughout pregnancy - mine was up and down early days. It seems to be the norm that it raises generally throughout pregnancy so it is more elevated in the later trimesters but that is down to a higher proportion of blood circulating in the mums system - I don't think that's established at 4 weeks.

I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry as that won't help or make any difference. Your change in activity or stress levels could easily have affected it. I know a lot of people who took their fitbits off as they didn't like the worry it caused them!

Just to update - my RHR dropped to 85 at 41 weeks. I had my baby at 41+3, all went well and my RHR has plummeted over the 5 days since to 78. I'm curious to know where it will plateau - if back at my pre-pregnancy level of 69/70.
