Hi

What baby bottles have you bought... it’s my first baby so I don’t know where to start. I know popular ones are Tommy tippee and avent. I was thinking of getting bottles that help with colic just Incase so seen some MAM ones just not sure what to go for. I think I also need to get a new microwave I think it’s too small for the sterilisers however I’ve not seen them In person due to shops being closed.

I like Mam and they're super easy to clean because they all come apart

Same4Walls · 14/01/2021 15:35

We went for Mam self steralising bottles. They are so simple to put together and the starter pack with diffent middle parts was amazing. Plus the bonus of not needing a steraliser in a small kitchen was a definite added bonus.

Also on the subject of steraliser, we've always done come water steralising

Babyontheway21 · 14/01/2021 15:55

The mam self sterilising ones you put together a certain way, add water and put in the microwave. However when i had these my microwave wasnt tall enough.

Cold water sterilising uses tablets or soloution like milton. I prefer this. You make up a tub of it and can use over 24 hours. Look up milton steriliser on amazon, they do a bucket with lid etc

Mam all the way so easy to clean and they look cute. Didn't discover them till DS1 was about six months but bought the full set for DS2. I had dr browns ones at first for first baby and he never had colic, wind etc but they were a PITA to clean

hols86 · 14/01/2021 16:08

Hiya, I have always been a fav of dr browns bottles. My boys got colic a few times and found these bottles magical! They are also very easy to clean. Grin

The MAM self sterilising bottles are great, no need for a seperate steriliser. The smaller (5oz) ones fit into a small microwave so buy these first off. You will need the number 1 teats too. As baby gets bigger you might need the bigger bottles around 5 months, so just get the smaller ones. If you are planning to formula feed you might like to get 8-10 bottles and teats so you can wash and sterilise them for the day. I just used our normal microwave slimline veg steamer to sterilise everything else (dummies, breast pump etc) as it’s the same concept. The microwave baby specific steamers are bulky. Also first off you can use ready made formula that comes in packets with sterilised teats too, so you don’t have to sterilise straight off. Best wishes for your impending arrival!

I use Mam bottles. They are great.

I also did milton cold water sterilising. If you google it you can buy the tub, you then fill with water drop a tablet in, fill with your washed bottles and it only takes 15mins and the bottles are sterilised.
When getting them out you just shake them off (DONT rinse them off) put the bottle together and done!
They stay sterilised for 24hrs (rather 12hrs by other methods)

Tommee tippee bottles are really nice, easy to clean and sterilise and never had a problem with them
