I’m curious how many people had a dead set idea on what gender their baby was and were actually right?

Just a bit of fun really!

Yep, mine was easy though, all 3 boys gave me heartburn and very slight nausea. All 5 girls gave me migraines.

flapjackfairy · 13/01/2021 11:32

3 children. Wrong with every single one !

YorkshireIndie · 13/01/2021 11:43

Yes - I had an epiphany that my first born would be a boy and he was. Sounds strange as I would have loved a girl

JanewaysBun · 13/01/2021 11:47

DS - didn't guess either way
DD - thought she was a boy

AliasGrape · 13/01/2021 11:49

Very strong feeling I was having a girl for the first 20 weeks or so. Doing the nub theory thing on my scan picture it looked like a girl too.

Then after 20 weeks I completely flipped, always unconsciously referred to baby as ‘he’ so decided that must mean something and I was having a boy. Totally convinced.

We had a girl 😂

pumpkinpie01 · 13/01/2021 11:53

Yep to the point of telling people I was having a boy and convincing my daughter she was not having the sister she was so desperate for ( she had 4 brothers) and to not get her hopes up . Also no girls names chosen .I was right.

OnTheBenchOfDoom · 13/01/2021 11:54

Ds1 yes
Ds2 no, carried completely differently was horrifically sick with morning sickness for weeks so assumed a girl, found out at 20 week scan I was wrong.

Mama1980 · 13/01/2021 11:56

Yes both times.

NotExactlyMrsCurrentAffairs · 13/01/2021 11:56

Wrong both times.
It's a 50/50 guess akin to heads or tails

catpoooffender · 13/01/2021 12:02

There was no doubt in my mind I was having a girl until the boy came out.

VettiyaIruken · 13/01/2021 12:05

I was convinced my first was a girl.
Nope.

I hoped my second was another boy but I can't say I 'knew', I just hoped.
He was.

Lou98 · 13/01/2021 12:13

21 weeks pregnant with my first and was adamant from the start that it was a boy! Found out a private 16 week scan and confirmed at 20 week one that it is a boy😁

Dyra · 13/01/2021 12:36

I was convinced I was having a boy up until 35-36 weeks, when I was suddenly realised there was actually a girl in there. Turned out the change of heart was correct.

Mylittlesandwich · 13/01/2021 12:37

Nope, I was convinced I'd have a girl and we had DS.

passthemustard · 13/01/2021 12:42

I had no clue with my first. We weren't told the sex at the scan even though we wanted to know. She was a girl. My next pregnancy was a boy but I didn't have any clue until we were told at the 20 week scan, even though my sickness and cravings were different. With my next three pregnancies I ' 'knew' and was correct. Turns out I get bad sickness with girls but not with boys.

TheUpholder · 13/01/2021 12:45

I knew with certainty I was pregnant before testing, and had no doubt DD was a girl from the start. So much so that although I’d always said I wouldn’t find out the sex at the scan, when DH said he’d like to I went with it, as I knew anyway. Saying that, I had a 50% chance of being right, and a quick scan of the thread says around half of the posters who thought they knew were wrong so could just be down to chance.

user1481050140 · 13/01/2021 12:48

Convinced I was having a girl and sure that 20wk scan would just confirm. I have fab son now x

DreamingInColours · 13/01/2021 12:50

So sure it was a girl until I saw his willy at the 20 week scan!

bookishtartlet · 13/01/2021 12:53

I was right both times. I knew from very early on too.

Smoa9 · 13/01/2021 13:03

Wrong both times!

CocoPark · 13/01/2021 13:06

Totally wrong with the first. So utterly convinced that I was shocked when they were born! Lovely surprise.

With the second I had a vague gut feel (but had no faith in my own ability to guess!) and was right.

Both times my symptoms were generally in-keeping with the Old Wives Tales on sex.

googlesit · 13/01/2021 13:39

Totally wrong and so were most people, including the midwife who was with me when I was being induced!

Thisisatflrailservice · 13/01/2021 13:42

Yes right all 3 times

Sceptre86 · 13/01/2021 16:12

Yep, right both times, first was a dd and second a ds. I am currently pregnant with the third and think a boy but dh thinks a girl. We have a long wait ahead of us.

Terracottasaur · 13/01/2021 17:26

I was certain my baby was a boy and I was right, but still think it was just luck!
