hey ladies Smile I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar & whether things have been ok, or not? I was 7 weeks yesterday and when I went to the toilet for a no 2 I noticed that I was bleeding (from my vagina). there wasn't a lot of blood & it was a deep red but there were a few clots, possibly as big as my pinky nail, maybe a tad smaller. it was only this once & it seems to have stopped now, I had a bit of brown on the tissue this morning but I'm guessing this is what was left over from yesterday. I have been a bit constipated too & this was the 'most normal for me' no 2 I've had in a while (sorry tmi) I have been in touch with EPU & they're not interested unless I have any pain / bleeding heavy etc. I have booked an early scan for Wednesday evening as I can't deal with not knowing but I'm preparing myself for the worst

@katie416 I had something similar last week and am 11 weeks. Initially mine wasn't after a BM, but after it stopping for 3 days (went on for three days on and off to start with) I did have some after a BM yesterday and more brown spotting this morn like you say. After three days of spotting last week I was getting pretty frantic so EPU agreed to see me. Baby was fine and even measuring ahead, and they couldn't see any reason for the bleeding. I had an internal examination afterwards and they found a polyp - a benign growth on the cervix. So this makes sense with spotting after a BM. It's possible you could have similar, or a cervical erosion, both of which shouldn't cause problems with the pregnancy. Think with a polyp it can cause more bleeding during labour, but they may want to remove it shortly before due date to help with this. Also it's totally possible that you may have neither issues and it's just random.

@MintGreenLife thank you for your reply. I'm hoping it's something & nothing like you say but I'm just worried with it still being so early. keep trying to tell myself EPU must not be worried if they don't want to see me & there's nothing I can do either way, just try to put it to the back of my mind until my scan on Weds but it's easier said than done haha

@Otocinclus it is really horrible being in limbo, I keep saying how can I not know what is going off inside my own body 🤦🏻‍♀️ scary times!

I had this upto 15 weeks everytime I pushed too hard trying to go to the loo. Blush I'm now 25 week & its stopped having now.

@katie416 it's not a nice thing to see. I was honestly terrified last week but saw baby kicking away and doing really well. I'm still feeling uneasy now as still spotting even though I've been told what the cause is. It's just added stress but hopefully yours won't continue, and if it does hopefully seeing baby on Wednesday will help put your mind at ease x

@lilymty it's really reassuring to hear that others have been in the same position as me & everything's turned out okay did you ever find out why it was happening?

@MintGreenLife I know I can imagine. I'm getting scared already. I hope they can find the heartbeat pretty quick so I don't have those few tense moments before they do. it's really hard not to worry isn't it? I'm sure everything will be fine with you though & that's all it is Smile it's programmed into our heads that bleeding in pregnancy always = worst case but I'm learning that it's not always that x
