Hi all, I’m 6weeks+4 and the nausea started bang on 6 weeks, no sickness yet but this nausea is horrid! The food adversions have started and I find myself cringing at smells all the time, I just wanted to know if anyone had any remedies, things they eat to settle and just to feel like I’m not alone 😂

None of the normal remedies worked for me unfortunately - ginger etc. I got medicine from the GP which helped a bit, and tried the accupressure bands, but unfortunately I just had to wait it out. Eating regularly helped too.

It is terrible, I'm sorry you're going through it. Fortunately most women say it goes away around the beginning of the second trimester. I remember thinking that felt ages away so apologies if that doesn't help!

I lived on potatoes in all forms. And sucking boiled sweets helped.

Put on nearly w bloody stone though.

Hi,

I don’t really have much advice but just wanted to say I am in same position. On/off nausea from 5 weeks but since 6 weeks it’s been all day everyday. Feeling dizzy all the time, can’t face food smells and the only thing I can keep down is ready salted hula hoops and knorr chicken noodle soup from a packet - really not nutritious at all but when I try and eat something more nutritious (a piece of fruit or yoghurt) I just sick it up 🤢.

I’m 7+1 now and haven’t eaten a ‘meal’ for a week. So not much help really other than eat what you can and try not to worry too much about eating a balanced diet. I did manage to keep some tinned peaches down last night so that might be worth a try?

I kept a diary for a few days and found that I am better in the late evening, so I try and introduce new foods then and stick to what I know I can manage at other times. Maybe worth doing so you can see if there are any patterns for you?

Sorry you are feeling so rubbish with it x

I took cyclizine tablets to settle the nausea.

amberob89 · 09/01/2021 13:50

I'm in the same boat too.
7+5 here and been struggling with nausea all day every day since bang on 6 weeks.
Haven't been sick once but constantly running to the toilet with nothing coming out but excessive saliva.
I feel hungry but when the food is in front of me I can't eat it.
Mine is so much worse on an evening than the morning, I just feel more sick as the days go on.
Haven't yet found anything to help so just hoping it eases off soon.

Good luck to you!!

Ladies, it does get better. Weeks 5-15 were horrendous for me. Couldn’t get out bed and didn’t eat any meals, had to even ban my partner from using the oven.
Ice lollies, boiled sweets, chocolate digestives seemed to take the edge off for me.
My appetite is now back at 23 weeks but now I can’t eat anything without getting heartburn.
The whole 9 months are a write off I think but you will feel so much better soon.
Wishing you all well.

I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant and it's my second child. My first child is 2 and a half. I just feel like the shittest mum in the world right now because I feel so sick and tired all day everyday. I can't be bothered to play with him and I'm not cooking anything hardly so his diet is rubbish at the moment. I have no motivation to do anything. To top it off I'm a teacher working from home 🙈🙈 luckily I have an amazing husband who does loads but I just feel like crap!

Dowermouse · 09/01/2021 14:17

It might go, it might not sadly. I was unlucky and it lasted until I'd given birth. I was never sick.
I was ready to punch the next person who asked if I'd tried a ginger biscuit.
Fizzy water will lemon or lime juice in it was a relief.
I tried Cyclazine and Metecloprimide, neither worked much, the later gave me nasty side effects, unfortunately it's one of the standard drugs given during a c section. I declined it the second time around.
I hope yours is short lived OP.

LaMadrilena · 09/01/2021 15:49

Try not to worry OP, eat what you can manage, it doesn't have to be the perfect pregnancy diet. If it's just carbs, then just carbs. I found fizzy water helpful, strangely.

alwaystired01 · 10/01/2021 20:21

I'm in a similar situation, constant nausea at 7 weeks. Cyclizine and Ondansetron from the doctor have helped to take the edge off. For me eating plenty of the foods that I can stomach helps - potatoes, bread and plain biscuits. You have my sympathy, it really is horrible.

FTM91 · 10/01/2021 22:00

Gallons of fizzy water! Sometimes with squash or juice. Hope it passes for you soon OP, it's awful.

RachShad · 11/01/2021 15:54

I'm 13 weeks and my nausea is still here! Really upsetting me as I can't see a way out 😫

NatBa · 11/01/2021 16:38

Hi everyone thank you so much for your replies, so nice to know we aren’t alone in this constantly feeling sick lark, I’ve been wearing those motion sickness wrist bands that you get from boots and while I think it’s just placebo, I’ll absolutely take it! And I’m only able to eat pot noodles 😂 7 weeks tommorrow so it’ll be interesting to see if it turns into actual sickness yet
