Tips for dealing with PGP

Hi all, really looking for some help please. I have excitiating pain in my right lower back, hip and pelvis, which is radiating down my right leg. It came on suddenly yesterday and I can't walk unaided, or move from standing to sitting or lying down without support, and had trouble dressing this morning. I have tried paracetamol, heat, rest, stretching and nothing is touching the pain. I have called my maternity advice line and said likely PGP and to see if GP will prescribe some painkillers- waiting to hear about an appt.

Can anyone suggest anything else I can do to try and ease the pain as I am in agony Sad

I'm no help but you have my total sympathy.

I woke up 2 days ago (currently 35wks pregnant) in absolute agony. I can't walk, sit or move unaided. My husband is having to take me to the toilet, I have a 3yr old at home full time, and having to live on a building site as mid-renovations. I spent most of yesterday crying.

I spoke to the MW team yesterday who have put in an urgent referral to the physio department.

I'd recommend two things 1) a stretchy Velcro support belt (can't remember what they're called but available lots of places online including Amazon) for wearing tightly round the hips to hold things in place and 2) a private physio (even if online or on phone) who specialises in this if you possibly can. I had it (pre covid) - the NHS said oh dear, here is a stretch you can do and good luck, a private physio realigned my pelvis and got me walking again. Good luck - it's agony.

Hi, sorry to hear you're in pain. This pregnancy I've had really bad PGP and the other night I just lay in bed crying as the pain was so excruciating every time I moved. I've since had two osteo appointments and the difference is incredible. I found an old post on Mumsnet recommending finding an osteo on this site: pelvicpartnership.org.uk/recommended-practitioners/ and I found one close to me. She is a complete expect in PGP and as well as treating me in person, she's sent me lots of stretches to do at home to help.

@MaryShelley1818 sorry to hear you are suffering too. Hope the physio helps you.

@nimsay1 @serraserra36 thanks so much for the suggestions, I will look into them.

Currently waiting for a GP and physio to call me back but losing hope it will be today Sad

I spoke to my midwife the day after my pain was really bad and they put me on the waitlist for physio kit said it would be at least 6 weeks. They also said I'd be called once and if I missed the phone call I would not be called back and would be dismissed from the waiting list. Helpful!

@Nimsay1 that's so frustrating. I've already had a phone consultation with the physio due to an existing condition so hopefully if I am already in the system it might speed things up. My gp has now prescribed some codeine and also said she would refer me to the physio, so hopefully something will help. I'm dreading labour though if I'm still in this much pain 😕
