Just wondered if anyone else has or has had this, and if you've got any ideas how to make it stop?

I've only had cramp a couple of times but lately have started getting this horrible ache in my legs at night, and it still feels horrible when I get up in the morning...

Am hoping that a new matress will help, got a memory foam one recently as ours is crap and lumpy - sadly it has been delivered to our new house and we haven't moved in yet so I only get to lie on it when we go to check on the building work!

yes chunkypudding, I'm 30 weeks too and have the same. It feel like my legs don't belong to my body any more...

I have found a few things help (a bit!):

  • simply sitting on the side of the bed and doing ankle rotations, stretching the leg, massaging the leg up and down -a long pregnancy pillow to wrap myself around -sounds barmy but I keep a soft fluffy old cardigan at the bottom of my bed to keep my ankles and feet on, I guess it raises them ever so slightly but it also stops them clanging together

others have suggested I drink more water and eat more bananas?!?!?

Would be interested to see what else is suggested. Also fingers crossed on the move and the new mattress ...

thanks for the ideas hon!

definitely couldn't drink more water than I do already without dissolving, but will eat more 'nanas - think that's something to do with magnesium as I've heard them recommended for cramp before...

Will report on the new mattress when we finally move, the new place is a building site at the mo but still hoping we'll be in by the end of nov

am currently sleeping wrapped around a load of normal size pillows - sometimes it helps but mostly it doesn't! Have a dodgy lower back since getting big, that could be the cause I guess?

Hope any further advice helps you too! x

Oh my word, I'm so glad I'm not the only one with this! I had it pre pregnancy when I took some time off work and wasn't doing too much, and Ive got it now I'm pregnant, even when I do work, but mostly if I've spent the day chilling out. It's like my legs are all irritated and crazy. I thrash them around and DP wakes up and huffs and puffs, but I can't help it. I guess getting up and having a little walk around would help but I totally can't be bothered doing that of a night, especially as I am so tired at the moment. I'm going to try your suggestions wobbegong. I never would have thought to post this on here but I'm so glad you did chunkypudding. Clearly I am not an alien afterall!!
