Buying a 2nd hand pram - how old is too old?

I’ve found a great deal on a 2nd hand travel system, but it transpires its 6 years old. It had a break of 3 years in between children, and has had new tyres fitted. Is there anything I need to take into consideration with an ‘older’ pram or is this perfectly ok? Sorry, this might seem daft but FTM here and clueless!

You need to be sure that the car seat element has not been in a collision whilst in a car

I think the main things to consider are whether the model has been updated in the 6 years (and if it has whether having a previous model would bother you) and how well used it is. If the model hasn’t been updated how well used it is and how well it has been looked after is probably more important than how old it is.

@Snog I’d be buying a new car seat.

@Thefirsttime 2 models have come out since and it’s been used for 2 kids so well used but looks very well looked after. There have been 3 models, and I thought this was the in between one but turns out it’s the first one which is putting me off sliiiightly...

Depends what it is? A bugaboo, icandy, or other more well known brands you will still be able to pick up replacement parts on eBay if it ever becomes needed. A lesser known make or model you’d probably need to replace the whole thing if it broke...

@thunderandsunshine01 it’s a Joolz, so maybe more difficult to source. I think I’ll keep looking, I’ve plenty time after all!
