Do any of you have any recommendations for which bottles to use for formula feeding? There is such a range and would like to know what others' experiences have been and what works best. Thank you in advance.

This thread is a little old now, but if you’ve landed here looking for the best baby bottle for formula feeding, we’ve recently updated our best baby bottles page with lots of great options, as tried and tested by Mumsnet users and their babies. We hope you find it useful. Flowers

We got on best with Avent anti colic bottles, DD didn't like the Tommee Tippee ones for some reason.

We had Tommee Tippee normal bottles with the first and she had terrible colic. So going to get either the Tommee Tippee anti colic bottles or Mam bottles this time as they are both top rated for anti colic.

The Mam bottles don't need a steriliser either which makes it handy

I mix fed to start with and liked mam bottles. They are really easy to sterilise in the microwave and you don’t need any other equipment.
I also liked the sterilising bags, I think they were munchkin

We didn’t get on with Avent anti colic. We like MAM bottles. But different babies will suit different bottles.

Thank you for your replies. I was definitely thinking of going with anti colic bottles....the midwife had said Nuk but I know people really rate the MAM ones - have you had any problems with them leaking?

Mam self sterilising are brilliant so easy just to pop in the microwave.

No issues with leaks and as little one grows just replace the teats with next size up.

I had tommee tippee for about 2 month and she had very bad colic. Doctor recommended dr brown bottles and they saved my life!!! Bit on the pricey side, think 2 for £20 but highly recommend Xxx

I used mam with my second worth every penny. Bought them this time too but going to try breast feeding first.

DarcyParty · 04/01/2021 19:56

I second Dr Brown bottles! I was suffering so badly when DD had colic, the midwife gave me one for free (my hero!) and it was so much better for DD. Using them again for DS next month

Oneandabean · 04/01/2021 20:20

I loved tommee tippee with my first, no issues and will be using again this time if I can’t bf

Another vote for MAM here x

shhsecretsquirrel · 04/01/2021 20:51

MAM vote here, they were brilliant for us.

MAM bottles are great, no colic and easy to sterilise. They don’t leak. Much better than Avent anti colic

sproutsnbacon · 04/01/2021 22:33

The mam ones seep a bit if you are cooling or heating milk in a jug of hot water. I used a supermarket cheap bottle for that then decanted into the mam at first, it wasn’t long before I knew how much hot water to pour on the powder and then how much boiled cooled to top up with to get the correct temp. I used a supermarket cheap bottle for storing boiled cooled water.
