Hi all

I’ve recently had my BFP, I don’t have a midwife appointment until Feb.

This is my first time so just want to check im doing everything I can, I’ve been taking folic acid. Should I now be taking anything else?

Thanks

Congratulations! Just relax, I used to take pregnacare also.

Vitamin D is the other main one.
If you get a pregnancy vitamin, they contain it all, including folic acid so you only need to take the 1

Congratulations!! MW told me to take folic acid up until 12 weeks then started on pregnacare which I take daily (currently 16+2), and relax whenever you can, take it easy if poss Smile

I take seven seas pregnancy multivitamin. Try and drink plenty of water and eat healthily. If you haven't already done so there's lots of pregnancy apps you can get which are handy for info, checking what's safe and what's not etc.

Congrats!

As others have said it's basically folic acid and vitamin D, or a pregnancy multivitamin with both in. If you do go down the multivitamin route then best to get a pregnancy one as they don't contain vitamin A (which apparently can lead to birth defects - although my friend didn't know this and took it throughout her PG and her son is fine!)

I'd suggest taking a look at the NHS website as it has good advice on what to eat/not eat. The risk from some of the things on there is highest in 1st trimester while various organs are developing so definitely worth following. If you were having uncooked brie sandwiches every day now is the time to stop!

Thankyou all that’s so helpful. I asked when I phoned in but they said they couldn’t tell me anything - wish there was a bit more support for those early on when it’s all new!

I agree! When I was pregnant with my first, I had absolutely no clue as you're never told anything! I had to ask my friend wtf I was supposed to do

@SnooperTrooper12345 I honestly thought the doctors would be more helpful. It’s good you had your friend to ask, we’ve chosen not to tell anyone until we have the 12 week scan so feel so lost at the moment.
