Matb1 wrong date??

Hiya, just looking for advice from knowledgeable mumsnetters regarding the matb1 form. I wasn't issued one at my 20week scan mid December so had to go chasing round and eventually got a midwife from the community team to put it in the post for me... All good there except I'm not sure if the date is correct. My due date is 1st May but in Part A where it says 'in my opinion you can expect to have your baby in the week that includes...' she's put 3rd May 2021. The small print adds 'week means a period of 7 days starting on a Sunday and ending on a Saturday' so is that right??

I realise I could clear this up by just phoning the community midwife team but it took me a week of chasing to get them to even post it in the first place and am just keen to get it handed in at work! Xx

My MatB1 has my actual due date on.. it sounds like they’ve just made a mistake filling it in.

I’m not sure a couple of days will make much difference in terms of your employer - the form is just to let them know you really are pregnant.

Ah thanks for letting me know. Probs not a big deal I think I'm just worrying because I'm having a section again and it'll obviously be a week ahead of my actual due date... Xx

It doesn't really matter that much.

The matb1 is just your proof that you're pregnant for your employer. All employment things work off expected week of childbirth rather than due date. Babies so rarely turn up on their due date that it's all a guess anyway

They put the date based on my lmp on mine rather than from the dating scan. They fell in the same week, it's just there to give a rough approximation of your due date. It's less of an issue if the date is after the due date as it means you can start your mat leave based on your due date if you so wish.

It won't make any difference at all since you can choose the date you start your maternity leave, the date on the form just lets your company know roughly when you are due. Most people don't give birth on their given due date anyway.
