Harmony via NHS

I've read somewhere that the Harmony test can be done by the NHS for ~£250 which seems quite a bit cheaper than the private clinics I've looked at. I was wondering if anyone has had this done via the NHS and if so at what stage they did it? Did they take bloods at the 12 week scan? We're currently 11+1. TIA

Hi @itjustgotreal I know someone who had it done via the NHS but only because their screening bloods came back as higher risk, I'm not sure if you can request it otherwise.

I had it for free on the NHS with DC3 because of my age and because I was having my scans at Kings in London which is a foetal medicine research centre. I think they took the bloods at the 12/13 week scan

I had harmony done at 11 weeks and had my scan at the same time by my NHS hospital. I think it was £280 I had to pay. However I was offered this due to a previous chromosomal abnormality. I’m not sure if anyone could just request one.

My screening/ dating scan was seriously messed up (nhs booked it in for too late anyway, but then I had to self isolate until I had my negative covid test). This was not presented to me as an option. Had to have the quad test, which was covered by the nhs.

NHS won’t do Harmony for normal pregnancy. The option might be presented if there’s any issue/history but not all trusts have it. I did offer to pay NHS but they said no so you are better off going private. We did at 10 weeks and we went with Fetal Medicine Centre on Harley street

I had Harmony free on NHS twice but because my other factors put my risk at > 500:1 both times which is the threshold for King's for them to offer it.

I've never heard of anyone buying it via NHS

Thanks everyone. By the sounds of it each Trust is different. Hopefully we'll find out at the 12 week scan if it's an option.
