If I get covid, what happens to my antenatal care?

Apologies for the self-centred post but I've managed to think myself into an anxious spiral re.
catching covid...

Does anyone know what happens to antenatal appointments if you show symptoms/test positive?

I'm 34 weeks and supposed to have extra growth scans due to baby measuring big (and obviously need all the usual urine checks) but I'm assuming i wouldn't be allowed to attend my appointments if I had symptoms?

What if I had reduced movements and a cough? Would there be a way to check the baby was OK?

Obviously I understand that hospital staff and other patients need to be protected, but I'm terrified of something going wrong with my baby and it not being picked up in time.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

Following this as i have wondered what happens if you have covid and go into labour, obviously they treat you but that's the procedure 👀

If you have symptoms and are due a routine appointment, you should tell them in advance and they will either re-arrange it or plan for it to be done as safely as possible. If you have reduced movements or need an urgent review for whatever reason, you will still be seen but you must tell them that you have symptoms so you can be kept separately from other patients.

If you have Covid and go into labour you'll still be looked after by a midwife as normal, but there'll be extra PPE and more restrictions on going in/out of your room. I don't think they're making even Covid positive women wear a mask while labouring if they don't want to.

What @SockQueen said. I had to self isolate recently (not got Covid thankfully but had been in contact with someone) and I had to reschedule a routine midwife appointment but she said if I had any concerns or issues to call triage as normal and they would still see me, but they would need to know I was isolating so they could isolate me from other patients on arrival

Thanks, it's good to know that they will still see us if needed Smile

I asked my midwife about this as I'm worried about getting Covid just before my due date and I don't even have to wear a mask when I'm in labour unless I want to even if I get it, just means I have to be isolated from other mums and staff have more PPE on. Not sure if it's the same in all trusts but we're tier 4 here.

Yes, had to isolate for a few days pending a test at 39 weeks earlier this year. Was scheduled a growth scan which they rearranged for the same day as soon as I got a negative test result. They also said if I had any concerns about movements, or went into labour they would see you as normal with extra PPE but would need to go via different entrance etc to avoid other patients. I wouldn't have been allowed my partner if I had gone into labour however. Luckily baby was not in a rush.
