Possible miscarriage?

Hello. I’m currently 9 weeks pregnant. For the last 3 days (started off as spotting) but has now began to get heavier more like a period, and I’ve lost about 7 blood clots all bright red in colour. One was almost the size of my palm. My question is could this be a miscarriage or is it possible I could still have a healthy baby in there? I can’t get an ultrasound until Monday due to it being a weekend and the lady was on holiday over Christmas

I think at this point you just have to ride it out, I'm really sorry you're going through this though.the scan is "tomorrow" / today and not much point going to A&E, so try and rest, try and sleep and best of luck tomorrow

It sounds like a miscarriage but only a scan will confirm. Are you in pain?

Try and rest as much as you can until tomorrow but if you do find yourself in severe pain and bleeding more, go to A&E.

All the very best.

I’m so sorry. I bled heavy with my boy at 9 weeks. Try to rest and dukedom hydrated. If it gets worse with mass blood loss (soaking pad in hour) please go to see someone.

There are a few possibilities

  1. A sub chorionic haematoma is a 'bruise' within the uterus which bleeds. The bleeding can be light or quite heavy. It can be 50/50 if the pregnancy goes ahead depending on bleeding and where the haematoma is.
  2. Cervical bleeding, given the type of clots you describe this is less likely
  3. Miscarriage. Do you have any pain or cramping? Similarly be on the look out for asymmetrical pain, and fresh bleeding, in the instance of ectopic.
  4. Some causes of bleeding are unknown, and the pregnancy continues without issue.

I'm sorry you are in this limbo, it really
Is dreadful. As PP said not much to be done now, unless you have excessive bleeding and pain. Attend A&E in that instance. I've had three miscarriages and they are always rubbish. Best of luck x

Hi

This sounds very similar to my experience when i had a miscarriage in the first trimester... started off as light spotting for the first few days and then began to get heavier. Another symptoms i had was period pain like cramp... are you experiences this?

The only way to confirm really is to have a scan.

Fingers crossed for you!!!!

Sorry to hear this OP.
It does sound like a miscarriage. Obviously there is still a small chance it isn't but it sounds that way.
So sorry
