Anyone used either of these and have any real reviews or feedback! I’m in tier 4 and can’t test any, hopeful shops will open before due date but wanted to ask opinions! Thank you x

John Lewis are doing free virtual nursery appointments which may help. We went in store last week and Silver cross were super bulky, looked at Icandy which was also more bulky than the uppababy cruz we have bought.

@DiabeticFirstBaby Thank you, yeah we don’t want a virtual appointment as I want to push and fold it up in person. Glad you got what you wanted! X

With our first - bought the I candy and all the accessories. Complete waste.

Bought the silver cross pop for a 10th of the icandy price and it is still going strong with 2nd DC and multiple holidays.

I have the silver cross pioneer, we bought ours second hand as I couldn't justify the price new. It's ok, it looks nice and is pretty good if you're out and about in a town or shopping centre (not that we get much opportunity to do this these days!) but not so good on bumpy tracks. Storage is good under seat, and fits in our boot ok but we have big cars.

PinkSpring · 02/01/2021 10:33

We have the silver cross pioneer - now using it with our second child.

I like it, it's pretty good on various terrains, has a large basket, easy to push, isn't overly bulky - can navigate fairly tight spaces easily. When it folds down it isn't the smallest though so keep that in mind.

Only thing I get annoyed about is it seems to struggle to bump up pavements if they are quite high.

Ours is coming up to 3 years old and still looks perfect and never had any problems with it.

Thanks ladies! Really appreciate the honesty x

I had the silver cross wayfarer and loved it and still looks in perfect condition even after constant use.

The only niggle is I wished I'd bought the Silver cross wave which is adaptable for a baby and a toddler as I'm now having twins and my lovely silver cross wayfarer is now an expensive ornament in the loft and I've had to go out and buy the Wave

I have the Pioneer Eclipse, baby hasn’t arrived yet, but we set it up this week. It’s so beautiful.
It’s easy to collapse, but you likely need 2 hands to do so. I “test drove” quite a few (Ocarro, Egg, Nuna) and this was my favourite one to drive. It seemed to be the easiest to navigate and was really solid.
I was impressed to find that the carry cot is collapsible when not in use, so for long term storage, that is a real bonus.
The base is 7.5kg + seat or carry cot. But you need to remove the seat/carrycot before collapsing it.

The silver cross pioneer was redesigned in 2020 I believe, so check which version you're getting. Its the one we're going for as it's much lighter than the uppababy Cruz v2 which was our second option. I haven't bought it yet but I didn't like the icandy when we had a push of it in John Lewis. I can't remember specifically why, it might have been the folding? We went through a lot of prams in the personal shopping appointment, I just know that for scratched off the list for us! I have fibromyalgia so had specific needs for me including weight but also how supportive it was to push as I hope to not need crutches while using the pram.

Some additional things I liked was you can get elevator adapters to raise the height of your baby which also makes accessing the basket easier, and it folded really easily. I think the Cruz was easier to fold but weighed more, and the finishing of the silver cross felt better. Both you could connect the car seat we wanted to, but check that out if you already know your car seat as it may be a deciding factor!

PlanBea · 02/01/2021 15:39

@bubblesforlife you can keep the seat on the pioneer to fold, but only when it's forward facing. So no use in pram mode or parent facing but I have folded it with the seat on for when they're older! Smile

We've bought the pioneer (due in march) and we love it, admittedly its just been around the lounge-we did try it in the shops first. We got the travel system bundle from direct4baby as it was half the price of silvercross own website.

I have the Icandy lime- the first version I believe you get more as standard with the newer ones.

In the year we've had it it's had a lot of use. Generally happy with it. We got it specifically because it all folds down really easily and small (once you are not using the newborn top).
I have had a few little issues the front wheels kept sticking but they replaced them really quickly with no issue and the folding mechanism broke but again we sent it back and they replaced the part really quickly without question and in all honesty I think we've just been unlucky rather than the pram being flimsy.

It's all really easy to clean too which I have to do almost daily thank to the daily muddy dog walks!

Metallicalover · 02/01/2021 18:39

I've got a silver cross pioneer, my little one is 17 months at the mo. Plenty of room for her to grow. I'm sure the pioneer is now called a pursuit (it's looks the same as my sister in law just bought one) I agree with John Lewis advice they're very helpful (reasonably priced and good guaranteed also).

No personal experience with I candy lime. My friend has an I candy it's lower down than the silvercross and it's smaller so my friends child looks big in it when she's only 2 xx

Toomuchtooyoung01 · 02/01/2021 18:41

We have a Pioneer, have used it for both our DC's.
would recommend other than its too big for our boot so have to completely dismantle it wheels and all which is a faff!

SaraJean21 · 02/01/2021 20:21

We have the pioneer too, been using for 19 months and very happy with it and will use for DC2 due March.

JTB123 · 02/01/2021 22:50

We went with the lime from John Lewis! It's AMAZINGGGGG
